egreat M34A audio with AVI problems

Has been working great with all AVIs untill last week.
With some new downloads I don't get any audio through the m34a.
Through windows media player the audio is fine. All older avis are fine.
Its like there's a new codec for audio AVis and the M34a is not reconising it....
Happened with Torchwood & True Blood.

Any ideas would be most helpful...

I have had a lot of scene AVI's from one UK crew that wont play, FTP I think.

Follow the How to Get AVI files working and try a simple remux with avimuxGUI first.

If that doesnt work then look at the mediainfo output and see if the problem involves GMC/QPEL.

The simple remux didn't work.

But i've got more info.
The AVIs with no audio through the M34A all have the same Audio Stream compression - FRAUNHOPER IIS MPEG LAYER 3.

Does this translate as MPEG3 & does the M34A play MPEG3 & if not how can i change it ...

The definition of MP3 is "Mpeg-2, Layer 3." Fraunhofer is (among) the group of engineers that invented it.
Your nmt supports it for MOST sample- and bit-rates.
