I have this MKV that won't play on my A200. It plays fine on my PC using VLC player though.
Here's the media info: Code: General |

RE: MKV won't play
MKV's are a hard to figure out why they dont work. What happens when you try to play it. Are there a ton of subtitle or audio tracks?

RE: MKV won't play
When I try to play it, the screen goes black for a moment, and than returns to where ever I played it from. There is just one srt, which I renamed, but that didn't help.

RE: MKV won't play
you can try 2 things that may solve lots of MKV playback problem :
- remux everything using MKVToolNix (and try enabling or disabling the header compression in the options to see if it solves the problem) - use MKVFIX.EXE. this is a tool that works with MKVToolNix (which needs to be installed thus) and that was written to fix playback problems with some MKV and with WD Live players. it will automatically check if it finds problematic files, and will do everything for you. I had to use it to solve some playback issues I encountered with my old A-110 and that were not present on my C-200. C-200 - Verbatim Store'n'Go Netbook USB 8 Go internal USB for NMT Apps - HBR-200 SATA1 - Optiarc BC-5640H SATA2 HDMI to Yamaha RX-V465 -> HDMI to Sony KDL-32EX600 3x ReadyNAS NV+ 4x2To Raid5 1x ReadyNAS Ultra 4 4x3To Raid5 Homemade OpenMediaVault NAS (Atom D525) with 6x2To Raid5 |

RE: MKV won't play
Also try to play the MKV when there's no srt file in the same folder. If that plays fine then you know its a subtitle issue.
Remuxing with MKVMerge will fix a lot of problem MKV files that are created with other applications. It will also give you good error codes/messages if it finds something wrong during the 2 minute process. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |
