Bad HDMI cable causing Video and Audio Glitches
wow, i must say i am baffled, this is the first time i have actually seen this happen but it turns out the HDMI cable that came with my C200 isnt quality enough to handle certain high bitrate scenes in certain movies.

I have been doing tons of testing trying to resolve streaming issues through various network setups and basically 98% of all my media plays just fine via HDMI bitstreaming.

I have been very disgruntled that my A110 plays 100% of every pure raw m2ts file i send it perfect and my C200 wont.

It is very predictable, when it hits a really high bitrate segment of a movie, for example harry potter deathly hallows p1 right in the first sentence the video glitches and audio cuts out. owls of gahool, during the intro when the owl swoops down to get the mouse it would mess up the same way.

I hooked up component video and analog audio to my lcd tv and both played fine !?!? so i went and grabbed the hdmi cable that came with my A110 and plugged it into my C200 and viola! it played through both those scenes just fine!

So apparently the HDMI cable that came with my C200 just cant handle past a certain high bitrate. but it does handle tons of media that i have sent it that is just under that threshold it would seem.

Now i did put it to the true test which is Depeche Mode Tour the Universe bluray and it actually played better then with the bad cable but eventually still glitched and messed up still (same as component output), i tried a 3rd hdmi cable i had and it seemed to be the same. this one does hit 55+mbit so i guess it is still an issue with the C200 not being able to play it because my A110 still plays it fine streaming from the exact same server.

anyways, point being if you have high bitrate playback issues, it might not be your network, try analog component output or a different HDMI cable as the cheap one they included may be the problem!

^^ nice job trying to track down your problem. HDMI cables can be funky when bad. But question How is your depeche mode tour over 55 bluray standard only allows up to 54.0Mbps for audio/video combined

RE: Bad HDMI cable causing Video and Audio Glitches
After 1,5 year of popcorn enjoyment on SD TV I bought a brand new Plasma and tried to use it in conjunction with the provided C200 HDMI cable that had been lying around.
I got a very similar issue as yours but it would occur with any media regardless of the bitrate (low bitrate mp3, dvd iso, mkvs with xvid encoding and of course blu-ray structures). Occasionally, the sound would start sounding metallic and the picture would be distorted for a split-second. This even occurred while browsing in menus!

My first intuition was right: after changing the HDMI cable for another. Bingo! No more issue. What's weird is that I have since used the very same cable to connect my PC and to play games and I don't experience any issue!

As halfelite says, HDMI cables can be funky when bad...

Nothing lasts forever. It is especially true for electronic devices. Thank God, consumerism will make you happy to purchase a more fashionable device as soon as the old one starts to fail.
