I got the new Sony Camcorder HDR-CX130 which can record in 60p. However, it appears the C200 can't play this properly. It shows for 1-2 secs and hangs. Sometimes it'll play but with no audio and seems to play at 1/2 rate. My boxee seems to be able to play it ok. Is the C-200 too underpowered to play this format? Is it time for me to retire the box?
Here's the info. RE: Sony Camcorder 60PS AVCHD video issue
It is quite possiable that the sony video is in the new AVCHD 2.0 spec
that allows frame rates of 1080/60p,50p, I doubt the current pch firmware can play such files more info at http://www.avchd-info.org/ All advice is supplied packaged by intellectual weight, and not by volume. Contents may settle slightly in transit. ![]() http://trakt.tv/downloads/popcorn-hour |

RE: Sony Camcorder 60PS AVCHD video issue
Depends if syabas wants to implement the new changes and if the licence they use covers these changes
if this change has to come from sigma it won't happen quickly maybe someone in the know will enlighten us All advice is supplied packaged by intellectual weight, and not by volume. Contents may settle slightly in transit. ![]() http://trakt.tv/downloads/popcorn-hour |

RE: Sony Camcorder 60PS AVCHD video issue
Does it play better from an internal or USB attached harddisk?
If so check you network settings it should be set at 100Mb. The specification of the C200 does not show any support for the High@L4.2 profile. 4.1 is the max. You could try to remux with TS-muxer and change the level (4.0 or 4.1) to fool the Sigma chip. |

RE: Sony Camcorder 60PS AVCHD video issue
Internal or USB attached hard disk doesn't help. I remuxed to mkv using tsmuxer and mkvmerge with no difference.

RE: Sony Camcorder 60PS AVCHD video issue
In this thread you can learn some methods to make it work:
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...?tid=50780 In short: My solution: turn it into a .mp4 file. I tried this with a 50Hz video from a Panasonic camera, and it worked. Use tsMuxer to extract the video and audio streams from the .MTS file. http://www.smlabs.net/en/products/tsmuxer/ Use MP4Box to mux the video+audio into a .MP4 and try playing it. http://gpac.wp.institut-telecom.fr/mp4box/ Another solution: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...#pid501090 Chris59 shows here how to turn the video into a proper multiAVCHD structure which will play. |

RE: Sony Camcorder 60PS AVCHD video issue
That's the problem with manufacturers scrimping on licensing...
The entry level stuff almost always uses some proprietary video standard lacking in higher end models. Personally I don't get any camcorder that doesn't support MP4 or web sharing standard support. If you're shooting commercially then of course using 1080p 60fps matters but almost always commercial video needs post processing anyway to accommodate the least common denominator of potential customers. Nowadays that means DVD formats or even Youtube. FYI. For these cameras that don't output files friendly to the media players in general, I run them through handbrake. RE: Sony Camcorder 60PS AVCHD video issue
GDay all.
I recently purchased a Sony HDR-XR160 whilst on holdays in th US. I recorded all in 1080P 60P. All I did is drag the file off the Sony; onto my computer (as it comes with a crap program PMB) straight onto the internal HDD in my C200. Plays fine and looks bloody great. Yet to be edited but no dramas. Spec from the site: High Definition MPEG AVC/H.264 1920 x 1080p, 1920 x 1080i, 1440 x 1080i (60/60/60 fps) C200 connected to a NAD 785 receiver, NAD 587 BluRay player and Sony 50" Bravia. The drama I thought Id have is that the video camera is NTSC..PAL here in Australia..however TV has 'auto' for PAL and NTSC. Set to auto..works great. Different video camera specs? My two bobs worth |

RE: Sony Camcorder 60PS AVCHD video issue
How does the file look like when it's on the HDD? Is it an entire directory structure or just .MTS files?

RE: Sony Camcorder 60PS AVCHD video issue
GDay revlisoft
Mate, tad of bad luck with your video camera. My recording is typical bluray stucture. Went to 'stream' and all.MTS files. I just placed it in a directory. I also created an ISO and placed it in another directory..the ol popcorn plays it fine. I have other recordings as well. I now have recordings with all the settings - FX and PS 60p. Seem to play fine. Different specs in cameras? I did a search on google and they are around the same era.. Different firmware in the C-200? My firmware is 03-04-110530-21-POP-408-000 I have Western Digital Caviar Black WD 1.0TB installed. Regards |
