Hi fellow NMT users...

I'm a new user of popcorn hour a210...

Having some rather annoying problems...

Response time: EXTREMELY slow takes around 30-40 secs to load a 1gb mkv file,


Freezing: box freezing Or hanging when trying to play files from HDD downloaded via torrent

Mp4s don't play
Certain avis play with no sound

Keep constantly getting:

Request cannot be processed ??!! Hit return but return does nothing !? Then gotta turn box off ?!

My shared folder suddenly stopped working...

Takes about 2-3 mins to load a smallish file from stream I.e 2gb file ?

On newest firmware
Using 100mbps router

Very disappointed with functionality of the box..

Also the term 'plays anything' I'm afraid yet to believe....

ANY suggestions would be great!

ok lets tackle the easy one first.

Avi files with no sound are usually bad avi files with junk in the header/riff to fix them a simple mux in avimux will do that trick takes about 15 seconds. you can follow the guide here http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...p?tid=9399

non working mp4's you will have to post up mediainfo if they are from itunes or something they are drm protected and wont play. to post mediainfo follow this guide http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...?tid=24449


Now on to the freezing/slow load times were is your media located?

From the HD and also streaming!!

Streaming is horrendous....

Mp4s are torrent downloads....

Can play the sample of 34mb but crashes and stutters and eventually needs turned off / on...

try turning the torrent client off and see if it plays better. if you have a lot of torrents going it can slow the box down.

These problems are without ANY torrents running my man!!!

couple things to try. remove the internal drive and try streaming from a network location.

If you files are on a network and are taking 40 secs to load even a MKV or AVI then you have some network problem.

Try setting to 100/10 if you are using Auto. Does that help?

I have seen posts from some users with fast connections. Looks like 1500kb/s is aroud n the most to download at without affecting the operation of the UI.

Seen a problem with torrent downloads recently. Think that there's an option to check corrupted downloads and that fixed it for the guy. See if it helps:

You havent installed the NMT Apps on the HDD and say also on a USB stick?

try and put some meat on the bones on your setup and the settings you are using. Also look at Mediainfo as it will help diagnose payback problems:
