Noob Questions about buying NMT

Hello all!

I am really excited about getting into this, but i have a few questions that hopefully some of you would kindly answer.

1. Do you need a server to stream content? Can I just use a PC instead?
2. Can YAMJ be used to view movies on a PC alone?
3. What NMT should I purchase? I was hoping to buy one used at a very reasonable price. I would only be using it to watch ripped DVDs basically.
4. Are there comparable products to popcorn hour? or is that just the best?

1. A pc will work
2. You can use it to view yamj but the movies wont play the use a special command to launch movies for pch only
3. you would most likely want current a200/a210
4. comparable products would be hdi-dune, popbox, boxee box, going from good to worst

Thanks for the info. Last question, will yamj work on Egreat?

Egreat dont do firmware updates any longer whereas PCH do.

The comparable PCH product to the M34A is the A110. Search for that if you can. Remember that the current model is the 200 and there are new models on the way. The older models will all do DVD and YAMJ though. You will not get Evasion opn the 100 series as thats Flash and only the 200 has that.
