Hi,

here is a new one.


The target was an elegant and minimalist look.

Changes:

1.41 myiHome: Fix: silver alpha channel not working / should work with the newest RC version too

1.40 both versions: Missing icon added + new background, the old one is still there

1.39: myiHome: changes for the upcoming version (4th icon for moviejukebox)

1.38: PCH: Missing logos for the upcoming firmware added, edited them to match the style of this skin.

1.38: myiHome: compatible for english/german selection

1.37: alternative "On" icons with a bigger supernova to look brighter

1.36: some pixel manipulations on the "Start" text for better looking

1.35: changed "Start" text to the same font as the caption

1.34: 5 new browser_wait.png icons

1.33: New background with a better looking caption, new line_side.png with the same look as the caption

1.3: added new lighter background, new side icon for harddisk, alternative "on" icons

1.1: sharper "on" icons with a small supernova effect and a little bit bigger than the old ones

Not bad, you can look at the files inside to get an idea what it will look like. My only gripe is video on and off.png and for the most other new skins do this, is that its the same icon, but with a different highlight on top of it. I wish they were two different looking icons. On and Off. An icon for videos, I would prefer something of a authentic reel of film.

I have found them on the net and had to create only the "on" versions.


BTW: Here is a much better looking caption for the background

Looks great Flash.

Here's a question for those of you skin creators in the know:

To create an SD skin from an existing 720p skin, is it enough to just resize the pictures with Photoshop CS2, or will that introduce artifacts? Can the icons stay the same size or do they need to be adjusted too?

Unless the process is very complicated, could somebody please explain how it is done?

For every work I use the free gimp.
The icons have to be scaled for the SD version.

-1st I create an empty transparent background with the size of the original icon.
-2nd I take the icon I want to use, scale it to the correct size and copy it onto the transparent layer.

How do i install the Myihome skin?

Just extract the rar to:

myiHome\webapps\ROOT\theme\


then choose the skin in myiHome under:

Edit / Preferences / Appearance and select the theme

Damn i cant get it done... i cant select the theme in Myihome. i only have SD in the pulldown list.

I can use the classic elegance SD theme... but my PCH output is on 720p.

Please help

Hm? Do you use Vista?

Maybe the "-" in Classic elegance-1280x720 is the problem.
Try to edit it to Classic elegance 1280x720
