Please help...NFS / Twonky / NMJ
JUst trying to get my system ready for NMJ v2.

Currently I'm using myihome which struggles on larger files (1080p) so normally I'd put them on the internal HDD. I have tried to set up Hanewin NFS server but with no luck. A 64bit OS doesnt help. Yes, I've followed the instructions to the letter but wioth no luck.

Have had more luck with Twonky though and files playbackl like a dream, its brilliant.

My question is if there is any Jukebox that I could use with this or any alternative?

Thanks for your help.

Steve

RE: Please help...NFS / Twonky / NMJ
You cant use Twonky as that's a http server app.

You dont need NFS on your Windows PC simply use SMB shares:-

W7 onadd:-

Using a static internal ip setup on your home network, when you get things working and feel more comfortable:-

RE: Please help...NFS / Twonky / NMJ
Thanks for the quick response chris, still getting jerky playback in high data scenes, are there any optimisations I can do to samba? Soon as it hits 17mbs its stuttering playback time. My ultimate aim is to rip and put my BD collection on PCH . If it cant handle an MKV then what hope do I have it running a full Blu Ray? Thanks for your help so far I've recheck my settings and they correspond with yours, I've done all you said, but unless I use twonky or put the 1080 files on the internal hard drive, 1080 is not happening over my network.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

17Mb/s is only 2.1MB/s which is very poor.

Try changing your settings on your serving device and also try using 100/10 rather than Auto in Setup > Network on the NMT.

1080 should be happening on any network unless it involves wifi or powerline at any stage in the link. Try the chipset NIC settings for your PC and the NMT 10/10 first.

Hi Chris
Thanks for your reply,
By serving device do you mean router? I only use the router for the net, its connected to a switch and then to a powerline over to the PCH. I'm using a DG834N

Powerline! Its the bloody powerline. Its time to get into the loft and get this sorted.
