[Bug] Samba server gone a-210

Hello

Can anyone tell me why under network browser,my samba is gone,and all i see is a non-working nfs share?
I have stopped ALL services except samba,but only protocol showing up is a non-working nfs share. I can no longer find my workgroup and add new drives. Old drives added sometime ago i can still access,but i changed drive letters on my pc,and therefore i deleted the shares on my pch a-210,then i wanted to add the new ones,but no matter what i do, samba or any other protocol will not activate.

However,once pch and pc both are on i can browse the drives and files on the pch from my pc,so samba must be running i would suspect

I have tried re-installing nmt apps,did not work,i have tried rebooting both pch and pc, didn´t work.

Anyone have any idea what i can do to make it work again?

NMT apps have nothing to do with seeing shares. You have a machine on your network that is not being a good master browser. A master browser sends out the information of all the machines that are sharing folders on your network. The easy fix that sometimes works is shutoff every machine in your network and turn them back on one by one.

Thx, i didn´t know i had to have all my machines connected on to be able to see the shares. Working now

You dont have to have all machines connected. The problem is the master browser can sometimes become a laptop which causes lots of problems lol. So its just an easy work around. Each machine does not broadcast its own shares to the whole network it sends it to one machine which is the "master" who then sends out the requests to other machines. Master is chosen at random at the time of computer bootup

Hehe, thank you for the clarification, i didn´t know that was how it worked. I always thought each machine broadcasted its own shares. This is good to know for future reference

OK, problem is now present again,and this time i have ALL pc´s turned on and samba server will NOT show up on my pch, how do i force master browser on? Or is there another way to get samba showing on my pch?

Nvm, patience is a virtue.. Samba showed up on its own after a little while
