Connect printer to PCH
Hello.
Have been trying to search the forum, but can't find any information on how or if its possible to connect a printer to a PCH and sharing it over the local wireless to laptops in the house? Have a A110 and win 7 This seems like a very common problem and there is probably a thread about it? |

RE: Connect printer to PCH
This is not a common problem. The PCH is a media player, not a print server!
If your printer has a network connection then you should connect it directly to your wireless router, otherwise connect it to your Win7 PC and share it over the network from there. RE: Connect printer to PCH
partly true if you do want to make your pch a print server someone did compile CUPS for the pch. But as its a user app you wont find much help here so if your not sure how to set it up you are better of using your pc

RE: Connect printer to PCH
Hmm ok
I guess i have to settle for less. Somehow i have a feeling it should be very easy... There are no problems accessing a shared drive on a different laptop. Why is accessing a printer on popcorn so much worse? Anyway thanks for good advise. |

RE: Connect printer to PCH
Found a few threads searching for CUPS... One of the threads talked about a remote USB port? Is this possible? To me it sounds like an "easy" solution?

RE: Connect printer to PCH
Because it's a media player and not a print server.
It's a small device that is designed to play media at the hardware level. It does this very well. A powerful device, like a desktop or laptop can do this type of thing via software because they have the processing power. People have to realize that because a device has computing abilities, that does not make A = B = C. Your hospitable EKG machine has a processor, memory, network connection, video display and even a USB connection. Would you try to make it a media player or even a print server?
