problem with playing video_ts folder
Hello, I have purchase a new popcorn hour because i'de have problem with my a-110. I buy a A-210, and what's happens !!! The same problem than with my a-110. When I play a movie from a video_ts map then about a few minutes the movie then goes into slow motion, and then goes into fast forward to catch up without audio. I have to pauze the play en then rewind back to play again en then it will play for a few seconds wel and then begin again, this for a few times and after a few times I can watch the movie without any problem till the end. I stream movies from my computer. My configuration are : A-210 with latest firmware and without a HDD (same as with the A-110), Windows 7 Ultimate PC ( Mainbord MSI MS7599 with a AMD Phenom II X6 1090T processor, 8GB DDR3 memory and a Nvidia Gforce 9500GT videocard) my router is a sitecom gigabit WL-368 v1 and I don't use wireless only cable. I buy a new media player for nothing, I'll made a case by popcorn about this problem with the A-110 and finaly they told me that the problem will be the mainboard of the pch that why I buy a new one :-( ... The problem does not occur with MKV, ISO, DIVX .... I use SMB to stream. Can someone please help me out I don't understand what the problem is, I do know understand that the problem probably come from the network (I think)??? Regards Chris

RE: problem with playing video_ts folder
First thing to do is change the network cables and see if that helps.

If that doesn't help you could try putting a switch between the A210 and the router.
A cheap Netgear, D-Link or TP-Link for example.

RE: problem with playing video_ts folder
The exact same problem I have (had) when I first used my WHS server, it would happen 1 times in the hour.
It only happended with high bit-rate content like 1:1 BD structure/iso's.
I found it was a process (demigrator.exe) that is used to "balance" the storage on the DE (Drive Extender) disk array.

The way I found out is by analyzing the CPU performance with Taskmanager (Taakbeheer) on the WHS server.

My advice is to do the same and look at the taskmanager while watching the movie.

Another option (if it is networked related) is placing a 10/100 switch between the C200 and the Sitecom switch.
I had to do that when I used a simular Sitecom switch. It depended on the C200 firmware. Syabas has trouble to get it stable.

But the strange thing is that you have the same issue with the A-110, so the first option is more likely.
Pain was first, sorry about that.

My PCH was first connect to a 10/100 switch and the problem was also hier. I put it a few days ago on the gigabit router directly. With the A-110 I played for about almost 3 years movies without a problem. It's appears suddenly that it stuttert with the video_ts. I thought a few month ago that it could be my old PC getting troubeling but I have now a new one and it's still not good. Cable to the PCH is good. Both the A-110 and A-210 have the latest firmware on it.

RE: problem with playing video_ts folder
The first thing to test:
What happens if you put the problem files on a usb disk connected to the A210.
Is it only 1 file or does it happen on all Video_ts folders.
Do you try to play a single video_ts folder or is it part of a proper DVD structure? (the video_ts and empty audio_ts in a seperate folder)

I'll try also with a usb disk and it play fine. This occur on every video_ts map. the structure is lijk this:
c:\moviestitel\video_ts\...
I don't have the empty audio_ts folder in te moviestitel folder.
I will do a try with the audio_ts folder in it. I will test it tomorrow.

RE: problem with playing video_ts folder
Did you analyze the CPU or disk activity while watching the movie from your PC?
I still think you should look in that direction to find an answer for your trouble.
