A210 1080p 50hz & 60hz

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can help, I've just got an A210 and it doesn't seem to be able to output to my tv in 1080p 50 or 60 hz, all the other video options work fine. Sometimes it will start playing and then go black other times it wont even start.

My tv is a samsung led 7000 series and is capable of all the resolutions that my popcorn hour can display at.

Can anyone help me?

Does this happen with both movies and the gui (if you set "video output" to 1080p50 or 1080p60)?

Try a different HDMI cable. It doesn't have to be expensive, just different.

I've narrowed it down a bit now.

I had it connected through my av system and it works when it is directly connected to the tv (samsung led) but there is a problem with the colour, there are weird blue lines that appear in the picture when using 1080p 50hz & 60hz and similar colour problems on the main menu. any ideas?

When I had this problem the lines were green.
A new HDMI cable fixed it.

Doesn't that suggest that the problem is with the AV system? It would help if you mention what this system is and how it is connected to the PCH and TV.

it's a sony dh-810, connected by hdmi and then hdmi to the tv. bypassing the av receiver showed the picture on the screen but I had the blue and green horizontal lines and other blue and green problems on the menu. I've just upgraded the tv firmware and i think that may have fixed it however. Could this just be an issue with the tv firmware?

My new a-210 greeted me with a black screen until I switched modes via remote, only to discover the 1080p issue.
The culprit was the HDMI/DVI-Port of my Samsung TV, which is now used by the cable receiver which can only do 1080i. Usually a TV has one HDMI port capable of PC graphics modes, and that is the one to avoid.
