MKV file freezes on hdx 1000

Hi

My copy of Jane Eyre.mkv plays fine on vlc player on pc, but when i transfer to internal hard disk on my hdx 1000 it plays for a couple of secs then goes pixelated and freezes, can anyone help, ive tried mkvmerge with compression set to none, no joy.

I have the same problem with a little number of movies.

I extract the MKV-file with MKVEXtractGUI and after this I merge the files I need with MKVtoolnix

Often this helps to play a movie without freezing and such on my HDX1000.

This is a dodgy file, it wont play on the 200 series either and is out of spec at L4.2 with 10 reference frames etc. and only 2Gb for a 2 hour file. Get a better encode.

What works on a PC has absolutely zero to do with what plays on a hardware player. a PC uses software to play files, a media player uses hardware decoders. Very different and apples vs. oranges.

Has anyone tried tsMuxerGU to convert this file to TS format? I don't have it and I've seen too many versions of Jane Ayre to bother

Yes, just tried it that works great changed it to L4.1
