YouTube App - why advertising bar at the bottom?

That advertising keeps freezing the video when it loads for a second or two, you hardly can read the text in it and it's not clickable anyway... so why show it in the first place? It's purely annoying.

Note: This is NO suggestion increasing the ad's size - it's about getting rid of it

because its youtube terms to show them it used to just crash if a video had ads so its an improvement

Ok, I prefer seeing ads rather than just nothing, too. But don't "they" realize that the ads are useless this way? Even if somebody is interested in visiting a link... HOW should he do that?

Do you remember many YouTube videos not playing in the past? That was because these videos use ads and Google doesn't allow playback without displaying them. Therefore, Syabas had to add the ad display in order to make these videos play at all. It's a pain that they can't be clicked away, like in a PC browser, but according to the developers' statement posted in the YouTube App thread, this is not possible, because there's no such function in the API.

You cant adjust the ads the should show on the video then move down to were they are barley visible like just the very top of the bar shows

I was wondering if closing the ad would be possible, too.
I know that the ad has to be there so we can watch the streams, BUT where's the point when you're unable to visit the advertised sites anyway?

Why does Google force those ads for licensees?

good question which only google can answer, there api has no way to press the X to close it and the player is handled on there server, so we have not really much control over it.
