Your Media Destination Device is not found
The C-200 seems to have renamed the Sata_Disk to Sata_Disk_A4 which I need to fix. This, I think is the problem. Below is a history of what I did to try to fix it.
I have a PCH C-200 and it was working for awhile after the June update: I had upgraded to firmware Version: 03-04-110530-21-POP-408-000 and NMT Apps Version: 03-04-110520-21-POP-408-000. Yesterday I was looking at files that were on the NMT share from my PC and it just lost connection. I restarted the C-200 and still no connection. When I looked at the C-200 NMT Apps, everything was stopped and inaccessable, (start buttons greyed out). I also have the following error: "Your Media Destination device is not found. Please connect device or assign Media destination in NMT Setup Wizard to continue." I read "How to recover Popcorn Hour C-200 from firmware update failure with fail-safe kernel" and recovered to 03-04-110531-21-POP-408-000 firmware. This had no effect, so I reinstalled from thumb drive, NMT Apps Version: 03-04-110520-21-POP-408-000. This had no effect I pulled the hard drive so as not to lose all my data, and put in a good 1TB drive, installed the above firmware update and fresh NMT Apps on the new drive which formatted it of course. Rebooted and this had no effect. This is a good product and has been steady as a rock, but I read so many problems with the new firmware, I am thinking it is the cause of the problem. Hesitantly, I went back to the factory defaults which did not work. |

RE: Your Media Destination Device is not found
If the HDD has renamed to SATA-DISK_A4 then your NMT Apps install is incorrect.
It has actually told you what is wrong and how to fix it. You have selected a Media Drive and now the player cannot find it. So either go into NMT Setup Wizard and set the Media Drive to the correct drive or reinstall your media drive. If you only have a HDD and no USB stick with the NMT Apps installed then the HDD has problems. Either the NMT Apps need a Fresh install or you can try using the Setup Wizard to reset the Media Drive to your HDD. However as the HDD has the name A4 that means that it is not registering as having the NMT Apps installed on it. RE: Your Media Destination Device is not found
Thanks for your quick response. I guess that I forgot to mention that I went into the NMT setup wizard and when setting the Media Drive, only SATA-DISK_A4 is showing. The 1 TB drive I put in was formatted with NTFS but of course when the fresh NMT install was applied it formatted it. I did a few of fresh installs, typical installs, the media setup which did not fix the issue. The fresh install selects the only disk available: SATA_DISK_A
I think the only work around is getting a USB drive and installing the NMT Apps on that. But, my luck, it will still pick up the HDD incorrectly, as SATA-DISK_A4. |

RE: Your Media Destination Device is not found
Use a USB stick and reinstall the NMT Apps onto your SATA_DISK_A4 HDD. Hopefully you will see that the Typical option is available and thereby you wont lose any data.
If Fresh is the only option then it will erase your files. Personally I would always go with a USB stick for NMT Apps, particularly with the C200's internal slot, as if things get corrupted or you have hardware problems you only lose the data on a stick and not TB's of data. Remember you do not want two versions of the NMT Apps installed. RE: Your Media Destination Device is not found
I had this happen with the Beta that was released on Friday 23 September. Your post was made after that so I hope that you are not asking for help with regards any beta firmware as the open forum is not the place and you are not a beta tester in any case.
I resolved my problem by removing all devices from the C200. Then using the recovery firmware with the jumper. It sorted it whilst nothing else would. RE: Your Media Destination Device is not found
I have had the same problem as DMH 2000 on a A210 and a Seagate Barracuda 120 Gb and the latest firmware.
I could not solve the problem and had to use an other Hdd. |
