yes but we won't touch marvell because of some reasons, as i said for us there is currently no chip available which could do that.

So what i'm gathering is there is no chipset that you guys can use in a popcorn hour has the speed to handle true 3D at 1080p? So even if you put HDMI 1.4 on it, it wouldn't be able to handle it?

That's disappointing.. I currently have about 12 3D Blu-ray ISOs just sitting here that i'm unable to use on my popcorn hour. I'll probably buy the A-300 due to many improvements (Gigabit, UI, etc).. but the ability to play True 3D would have been a huge selling point for me.

Do you guys have any ETA on when this will be possible?

i can understand that everyone is waiting for 3D BD, but currently no way to bring it sorry.

Yes correct HDMI 1.4 wouldn't change anything.

Is there a price for this device yet? Even without 3D, 667MHz vs 800MHz is a rather large jump for what this device needs to do, and with these other new features I might grab one to replace my A-200.

Can anyone comment on the improvement the new chip has over the A200? 20%? 30%?

I can comment on how fast the popbox v8 is. and its faster then the A200 by how much hard to say but it is faster. the A300 has an even faster chip and l2 cache. Eversion runs very smooth on the popbox v8 so i image it will run very good on this.

Here a comparison chart of the "old" 8643 and the 8647.

Note the lack of Gigabit of the 8643 Huh

Same here. I don't know how to quantify how much faster, but a noticeable difference, for example, when browsing through the file browser

667MHz vs 800MHz + some other things such as L2 cache, etc. I'm going to say about 40% faster beccause of the L2 cache.. even without that it would be about 25% faster in raw power. Depending on how well it utilizes that L2 cache.. it could be even higher than 40%.

It's safe to say it will run flash skins noticably better... kind of hard to put a number on it though. If it's ~$200 I will retire my C200/A200 and grab 2 of these.
