New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!

I read every post n this thread and gave it a bit of thought. In the end, Wife said YES. 'Nuff said.

it`s bad for all old skins, but flash look likes more better then html.
New skins will come soon. It`s not difficulter to create flash, it only need more time.

I don't really know what to choose: I've always used YAMJ because my C200 has never had a native decent UI.
All i want is a moviewall with movie posters, plot and basic infos of the movie in every movie page, group movies by genre, tv shows etc. and resolution (hd/sd) and everything MUST be in my own language because I can read and understand english plot etc. but not my father, not all of my friends and so on...

the big problem of NMJ and (I suppose) this new UI is that if I can choose the language, the database where the UI is looking for the movies are very poor in languages other than english.
imdb is a very big db in the english version but italian version is crap.
themoviedb the same.
yamj can use filmup and comingsoon.it that are 2 db with a lot of titles in italian language and for other languages there are other plugins.

will it be possible to use database like those on the new UI?
or only imdb/tmdb?



well, in every case, eversion is working quite good right now, so it should always be possible to use yamj+eversion... mumble mumble...

Good point. Also, there will be more features that will be available (sorting, etc.). Either way they decide to go, I guess we will adapt. In the long-run, progression and advancements should win.

Werner, if the firmware dev team can offer 1 firmware with the new UI, and one without, then that should be easy to do and that would give the s/w NMT html community devs and users happy.

Someone could just make an eversion eskin to mimic zappiti, nothing really special about it that ev can't do now.

yeah it'll work.. I have some tricks I never played with so all of yamj might be ok, I'll have to find some time to experiment.

and they will need to find some time to release the update and i'll need to find some time to update my unit so... i'm planning to vote yes.

if the new UI works good for italian (read non-english) stuff (it means the UI looks in italian sites to grab infos) I will not need yamj anymore (and it would be great to have a NMT that doesn't need a computer anymore to update the jukebox menu etc.) otherwise....... YAMJ+eversion!

So, Werner, will the new UI File browser mode (if it comes to 200 series), still allow us to change and download fan art, download poster, and change wrong movie info? What limitations maybe left out on the port to 200 series? Thanks

I can't see other limitations, and as I showed on the a300 videos you will have everything the same, the only difference will be performance it can't be as fast as the A-300

and what about the sources of the movies informations?
customizable national sites (yamj like) or only big english databases (imdb and similar)?

The only reason I voted YES is because of the sorting options in the new UI.
I prefer to see my newest media files on top in the file browser.
Personally I don't see the use of a jukebox anyway, there are only a few movies I'd like to watch more than once..

I've read a lot of threads on these forums and not many, has bothered me, as much as this one. I'm not angry but more hurt.

IMHO NMJ v2 has been promised in public for some time. It will come to the 200 series, we were told. Were you ever told about the things you might have to give up to receive NMJ v2? This info is not new to Syabas. They have known for some time.

I look at the developers that supported my needs, not only with their code but also with their personal time & help. Without them, where would the PCH be now? Is this the way Syabas is saying thanks to these people?

I personally don't believe both the old and new can't be supported, if Syabas so wished. It might take some extra coding and hours, but it could be done. They also wouldn't need two code lines if they did the same for the 300 series.

I also don't like that if you buy into the new GUI & NMJ v2, you can't back flash to an older version that does not have either. I feel we are being pressed here, to make a decision that should not be necessary.

I have not voted but I'm going to vote against the new UI & NMJ v2. I know the new GUI will be passed because many people feel threatened, that to do otherwise, will mean no useful updates in the future.

Personally, I like the developer apps I'm using. No, they might not be as pretty as flash based stuff but I don't really care. Will the 200 series play media files better with the a new GUI + NMJ v2? You know the answer.

When this new firmware is pressed upon us, I'll simply stop updating. I think people are like crows. They like bright, sparkly things or maybe they just like to impress their friends? I just want my f**king media to play well.
