New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!

Would say No to Flash UI if it is without the support of HTML.

Flash look very nice and will be worth a try

BUT

Oversight is running still perfect for me with movies and tv-shows,
so WITHOUT HTML is stays NO

Gave up on YAMJ some months ago when wife like NMJ better, just been waiting (and waiting) for NMJv2. Presently I manage NMJ database through MyMovies but with the flash based demo, it looks like management of metadata straight from the unit will be pretty slick.

Plus I figure with the A-300 being flash based, many of the skin/app developers will start to migrate that way anyway to support the new box - even if it will take some time.

feature wise there is no difference beside the html, so you will have all the default apps as always, transmission, nzbget, ftp server, smb server, nfs server, upnp server,..............

Even losing my customized Jukebox (I spent a lot of time creating a very simple, but customized Jukebox for my music videos witch is about 500) and it's for sure that Portuguese version of IMDB is a complete crap with only some titles in my language change it's a good thing and technology it's always a change.

Also it's good if a company ask us what we want and why. I voted Yes.

another point which is moving me to vote yes is:
yamj developers and every developer that want to make new stuff for the new 300 generation, will work on that new flash UI.

staying to the old html UI, we'll surely have less problems in the next months, but what about the next 1-2 or 3 years?
yamj version 3 will be based on that new UI if omertron & co. want their creature to live on the new 300 units and they will develop all their stuff for the new flash UI, meaning we, 200 series users, will stay at october or maybe december 2011 even in 2012 and 2013.

It is a really sad thing that all community work that is done using html, in order to improve the old ui will be lost... Let's just hope that the developers will not lose their interest and start developing apps for the new era..
Because the truth is that we must move on.. The fact that x300 devices will share the ui with the x200 ones, only leaves the possibility for longer support for the 200 series..
IMHO, this possibility is the most important thing.
And of course we must not forget that only a few are willing to customize their NMT in order to improve it. The majority of users, just need something that works on its own.
So a big Yes from me

Only in as much that you wont be able to use the Aeon skin anymore (short term atleast).
YAMJ will not be scrapped, but that particular HTML skin will not be compatible.

If you havent considered Eversion, then you really should, its fantastic.

YAMJ will recognise all your ISOs, regardless of which skin your using.

So, what you're saying is, for those people who don't frequent the forums but have a x200 series PCH they should not be made aware of significant changes?

Consideration for everyone is a big part of a community like this.

I voted "Yes" because i'm not a YAMJ user, and I want to see NMJ V2 on the 200 series. Hope that Popcorn Hour Team will bring the new UI.

speedownsie the forum just shows some percentage of current 200er series users, if they are part of the community which means that it could be possible that they use one or some of the user projects, because also many in here don't even use user projects, then they will also know about the poll and can vote, it is not that we will make the decision this week! If the users don't care at all about user projects so they even don't look into this forum, then they won't even update the firmware and maybe still use a firmware which is over 1-2 years old, and if they update then for them it will be a much better experience and a surprise , because in my eyes the new ui is great .

I have 3 x C-200 and 1 x A-210 and I will still vote yes for a new UI. We need to move forward and put everything else behind us.
