Well, I'm going to say "no" for obvious reasons.

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!
that are different things the sdk has nothing todo with the ui.

about Nmj v2 internal and I agree it is confusing it means the hole Ui as you can see now on A-300, we still be able to bring the performance improvements for the jukebox present on 200er series, but Jukebox Manager as example will be hard if not impossible, to just name one.

What benefits does the Flash Ui bring? We can see the downsides but what are the upsides?

What about NMJv2, will there be one if people say no to the FlashUI?

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!
how hard is it too port Yamj too the new gui ?

Maybe we need a bit more choices here ....

So like yes too new gui but wait till Yamj , some other thing and an other thing work on new gui.

Is it possible too have a beta for 200 series ready so people can port the needed tools too the new gui and then switch over too the flash gui ?

YAMJ is "ported" to the Flash UI (It's what is used by the Popbox & V8)
However, all of the current skins will not be compatible as you have to use Accident's Eversion skin system.

I voted for yes...I think it will simplify thinks and it will be easier for many users to use the jukebox with the new jukebox manager...!

Isn't it ironic that the 3rd party apps/additions that people were forced to write to make the box half decent could now be the downfall.
I'd be laughing if I didnt own one!

it means that we can't bring many improvements like as example the jukebox manager to the old ui

to maintain two different UI is to much which we can't do

If you don't switch the 200 series to the new UI, the implication is that it will not be supported.
Can you clarify this please.

Thanks.

Certainly Smile

You clearly say that it is too complicated for Syabas to maintain 2 UIs and that you will not be doing this.

The question then is this:
If the C-200 UI is NOT changed to the new flash UI (vis this poll), will it no longer be supported in favour of the new x300 UI.

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!
yamj is working very well on new ui if you use eversion which is flash based, just the html skins won't work

they don't need a new beta todo that the flash api is present already on all 200er series

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!
There is a chance to improve 200er like was never before. YAMJ is obsolete... and belongs to 100er.
Now the community can build NEW FLASH YAMJ! If the flash API shall be released to the public! Imagine the new posibbilities!!!

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!
Somehow, if we vote against it, I feel that all 200 users will be left out in the past.

Think about it. Will Syabas' engineers really be happy to make bugfixes for an old unsupported system where they're asked to develop stuff for that new flash UI?

I know that loosing some flexibility in the process is really bad but it looks like there's a nice reward at the end (look at the demos: multiple subtitle support, video info edited live-poster choice included-, who knows what else will come in the future, ...)

Vote new UI! Big Grin

Nothing lasts forever. It is especially true for electronic devices. Thank God, consumerism will make you happy to purchase a more fashionable device as soon as the old one starts to fail.

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!
I think a bit of clarity will help my understanding:-

1. A UI is a user interface. The current 200 series has the standard lists and you can also use the inbuilt jukebox (NMJ).
2. NMJ is not part of the UI on the 200 series presently.
3. Will the selection of the flashUI mean that the UI includes NMJ as that is the way it appears on the Popbox v8/A300?
4. If the htmlUI is kept do you have NMJv2 ready? If so what will be in it and when? now I'm not expecting a list or dates but are the two biggies ready - multimount and foreign language support?
5. Without looking at the videos for Jukebox Manager, at work so can't see them, is it the NMJ way of aggregating libaries from different sources be they local, USB or Network? We have been assured that this would be introduced in bog-standard NMJ, I forget how many times I personally have posted this.
6. With the statement that using two platforms to develop, flash/html, is too much mean that if the 200 series goes Flash and html is stopped, that the 100 series will receive no more updates? It does need to stop one day.

Personally I would like the current UI to remain but to have NMJv2 working as well as appearences indicate within the Popbox v8/300 Flash UI. Keeping NMJ seperate from the UI. Losing html is a big step when it comes to the community developers that have added so much to the NMT platfrom.

A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI

But imagine the new posibilities now! Ask Syabas to open flash API for the community... or maybe it is now open? Than just wait ONE month!
