New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!
I think the developers have access to beta firmware (or even alpha) so those still passionate about their creations don't have to wait for public firmware release to start the migration.

Basing on past experience even if the poll was 100% for the new UI, I would guess it would be around 1st quarter 2012 before we see it available for public consumption.

A200 connected to 32" Samsung UA32C5000
C200 connected to Denon 1610 AVR and 42" LG 42LH50YR
Encore ENHGS-500 5 port Gigabit switch.

Sorry, but that's not really a choice for everyone ($); only if Syabas swaped my A210 for a new A300 - but I guess that will not happen Wink.

I think in the end everybody must accept the choice of the majority, that's how votes work.

But still, that's a better choice then none, wouldn't you agree?
And none is what the rest of us will have if they abandon product as it is now.

I don't understand why we have to have both series (x200 and x300) both on the same platform? Why not leave it for users to choose which one to use?

I don't understand you people - you all are so eagar to throw away something that works for something else you didn't even try yet?!

Yes, want to new UI. Love it and I only use the standard options of the Popcorn Hour. People who want to customize their NMT should just not upgrade I guess.

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!
Well I'm looking for a complete media player, not just for a movie player.
Originally that's why I've bought my C200.
But unfortunately I had to realize that the UI and the speed is rather poor, even I want to access it from my PC over the network (no GB Ethernet available on the box).
I do not want to dig into the smallest detail of HTML and XML programming to enjoy my medias.
I want my player work smoothly and pleasantly out of the box without installing 100 other plugins and external apps.

That's why I'm voting YES, and hoping things will go in the right way.

But on the other hand there are not only English speaking customers of Syabas, so I would appreciate if all the data (title, synopsis etc) of my (movie) media would be displayed in the language I'm choosing, like I can do for my GUI as well.
Here YAMJ is doing quit well, but not yet perfect.

Those are my 2 cents

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!
I first started reading the posts and thought it was going to go the NO way. I then voted YES and was surprised to see the majority is voting YES. Happy to see this. I'm just using the C200 as a mediaplayer, nothing more, nothing less. And I like the new GUI a lot better then the current one. And I think a lot of the customers aren't on this forum. Those will probably also just use it as a mediaplayer. Those people would probably all vote YES. Although I wonder how many of those actually update their firmware, since there is no notification Angle
But for me, I'm glad it looks to be going the Flash-GUI way Big Grin. Thanks for the work already done and keep up the good work. Please make me wanna buy a C300 with the 8910 Wink

C200 + 4GB USB stick + LiteOn BD-rom and A400 without internal storage via HDMI to Yamaha RX-V767 receiver to LG 47LW650S full HD TV and Panasonic PT-AE3000U full HD beamer, all media on Synology DS411j

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?!
If popcorn hour can't support two ui then it means either I agree to move to flash ui or get no enhancement on the current ui.

A300 is on the new ui, and they will obviously put more resources towards that device.

I don't use a jukebox, so for me the choice is simple.

Bring on the new ui :-)
