RE: Xtreamer Prodigy ?
avoid it like the plauge, Xtreamer is a terrible company look around on avs and mpcclub and you will understand they have never deleivered on there products before, Stole other peoples work and almost any player that has used a realtek chip has had audio problems.

RE: Xtreamer Prodigy ?
Xtreamer are the worst outfit out there:-
1. They steal other manufacturers and community software and work. 2. They make claims in spec that never were possible, HD Audio in Realtek. 3. Realtek chips are for those that wish to setup a company with littlew resource, its turnkey and a simple rebadge of the Realtek firmware is all that is needed. 4. The Xtreamer forum is a misnomer, a forum is a two-way means to communicate. If you dare to ask a difficult question or say something doesn't work then you'll be banned without wanring. 5. Xtreamer are known to hang on to your money for months. ...... Stay away from their products at all costs, cheap is most certainly not best. If you really want a realtek chip player for your file playback remember than the picture quality is poorer than Sigma chips. Which when we are talking HD I would have thought quality would be up there as your No.1 desire. RE: Xtreamer Prodigy ?
On nr2 i have too add that EVERY company in the media player market does promise many things that do not work for months, years, never (and yes syabas is in this club too).
After some time realtek came clean and addmitted that it was a fault on,in the chip that prevented HDsound from working and NO FW update could ever bring HDsound too that chip. BUT xtreamer is the ONLY company that still said for a long time AFTER realteks confession that HDsound would work on future firmwares before finally caving in. And in the meantime deleting post, treads banning people from the forums, etc all because they tried to keep the lie going longer. Pana S-20 Denon 2310 Router dlink dir-655 SYABAS FIX THE DAMN NETWORK SPEED!!! My network works fantastic using 1 year old FW but as soon as a new FW is installed i´m stuck around 5000Kbps in speed wich is WAY TO LOW |

RE: Xtreamer Prodigy ?
Yep, what they said... there are many, many people out there who have become disillusioned by how Xtreamer handles their communications and user relations.

RE: Xtreamer Prodigy ?
They just posted on their forums that the fan is "optional" and is only intended for people who live in "hot" countries. Haha, took them a few days to come up with that excuse, which more than likely is because they had to test the unit without a fan first and see if it would work. Should be fun to see when these things start to fail due to overheating.
![]() It was also supposed to come with an internal wifi module, but they've changed that to a USB dongle. I don't understand how anyone could trust this company enough to actually pre-order something half a year in advance. 17TB WHS 2011 w/FlexRaid -> PCH C200: Hitachi 2,5" 160GB & LG CH08 BD-ROM -> Onkyo TX-SR507B -> Pioneer KURO PDP-LX5090

Yes and have made comment there is no clear winner between dune or pch at that point its almost all personal preference in the past the Dunes were always priced higher which is one of the factors and they were not up to par on user jukebox stuff some of that has changed now. |

RE: Xtreamer Prodigy ?
Dune and PCH are the two best Sigma players out there. They both rely and suffer from the same issues in most cases as most are due to Sigma code/SDK.
NMJ is the big difference presently with PCH having licenses to scrape via the player and therefore there's no need for a PC to create a Jukebox. As well as being cheaper the PCH models offer more flexibility for the owner. Take the C series with the options to add or not a full size rom, slimline rom, 3.5" HDD via front loading slot, 3.5 " fitted internally, 2.5" internally, and then you can also tweak with some mods yourself. Dune made their customers purchase their BD drive as it was fitted internally. So you had no ability to pick and choose your options and for the first owners the drive was noisy etc. and needed replacement. requiring the unit to be sent away just to replace a drive internally. With PCH the drive is your choice and you can remove and replace at your time and not lose your unit.
