Developers guide
Hi

Is there a developers guide for the 200 series?

I'm looking for more information on how the the 200 series consumes HTML.

I took a quick look at the NMT server's generated HTML and it looks like a show JavaScript function is called when the device accepts inputs from the remote. Is there more information on this topic?

What are the rules for navigation between A tags when the device accepts navigation input from the remote?

Thanks

RE: Developers guide
Not sure developping HTML app for 200 series is a good idea right now...
HTML support is likely to be dropped anytime soon.

Wow

If I had known this was the direction Popcorn hour was taking I would never have bought anything from them. Flash is on the way out and HTML 5 is (eventually) going to take its place. This is inevitable. Why invest in a dying technology?

RE: Developers guide
Because it just works?
HTML 5 is a great idea, but... except for video (and the codec isn't even standardized), where is it used today?

RE: Developers guide
Is there a developers guide explaining how the A-200 series integrates with Flash / Actionscript? How are commands from the remote passed to the Flash application? Is there any functionality which does not work with the A-200 series?

Eversion seems to be closed source. Is this right? If so, why?

Thanks

RE: Developers guide
HTML5 isn't even standardized yet. And it's going to be a long way down the road before it does become THE standard. Right now Flash works and is easier to develop on than HTML.

I'm not surprised that Syabas went the flash route. It's a smart move and makes sense.

Huh Easier to develop for whom? Huh

HTML / PHP could be edited with notepad
flash ? could be edited with adobe css5 (worth more than $ 1,000)
or some freeware tools - both not really easy without any experience

RE: Developers guide
If I remember right, the CS4 suite I have cost around $1500 CDN back in 2009. Flex Builder is free but that's only part of what you need.

RE: Developers guide
use flashdevelop, it's free. Have any kids or family in school and it's dirt cheap for flash cs5.5 (you don't need the suite, it doesn't help here).

And yes it's easier and you can do more, just the learning curve for how it works and it's really close to javascript with some extras.
