Does NMJ have a limit for movies
Hi, I have a large collection of videos that I have in the NMJ. When I load a new one and scan, it doesn't care anymore. The movie will play if I go to the folder but NMJ doesn't want to bring anymore in. Should I rebuild the db or have I reached full capacity

RE: Does NMJ have a limit for movies
Try adding the film with NMJtoolbox if scanning engine isn't adding film. And how big is your collection of films? would be helpful to know.

RE: Does NMJ have a limit for movies
It's possible that the movie was not recognized correctly and is added to a tv show as episode or is listed under a completely different moviename. Do you have this with every new movie you're trying to add?

RE: Does NMJ have a limit for movies
No, the last movie I tried did add, this was 'The Machinist'. But 'This is It' and 'Valkerie' and 'Hulk(Ed Norton)' stand ignored. I am close to 125 movies now and need to add at least 75 more.

RE: Does NMJ have a limit for movies
125 movies is for sure not a limit.
I'm thinking they are imported but they were probably detected as a different movie. Movie names like 'This is it' contain words that are present in a lot of movies so it is possible that something goes wrong. Try going through your whole movie list (best to use the Wall view for this) to see if you have unknown movies (movies you didn't know you had). Go into the details page to see which file is linked to it and most likely you'll find your missing movies. You can rename the movie in that view as well by looking up the correct IMDB name. |

RE: Does NMJ have a limit for movies
I have over 500 movies and I have not reached any limit. It must be your naming convention where IMDB is not finding the correct movie. When I run into this problem, I notice that I'll get movies that are listed as "unknown" or sometimes they will show up with a totally different title. To fix the problem there are 2 solutions you could use. (1) is to google the movie to get the IMDB tag # which begins with tt. For example, Valkyrie is tt0985699, so I would rename the movie "Valkyrie (2008) [ID IMDB tt0985699].mkv". If that doesn't work, option (2) is to create a nfo file containing the IMDB path. The name of the nfo file should be exactly the same as the movie, except, of course, that the extension is .nfo. The contents of the nfo file could be simply : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0985699/
I also go through the extra step of deleting any reference to the movie in the Jukebox directory, so when I regenerate, it recognizes it as a new movie. I hope this is helpful. I do this constantly because I like to make sure I have accurate movie information in my jukebox. --------------------------------------- One more thought, I'm wondering if it's not a naming convention problem but rather the build of YAMJ you are using. Try the naming convention first and then troubleshoot if it's the build. AND, another reason it might not be adding movies would be if you are running any type of peer blocking software which will prevent your PC from communicating with IMDB---that would certainly mess you up. |
