Some C-200 Questions With BD Drive
Gday from Australia folks
![]() So I'm looking for a new media player and this PCH C200 with a BD drive looks to be great! I've been doing research but I do have some questions: 1. Is the PCH-200 with a BD drive fully compliant to the bluray profile 5.0 standard? 2. Since I understand that some broadcast format 3d content requires HDMI version 1.4a, along with some 3d movie content, this is a limitation should I wish to playback backups or commercial media on BD of such content? 3. What exactly are the decoding limits of AVC, in terms of levels and cabac and so forth? 4. The same as 3 but for MPEG 4 ASP content 5. For DVD content, is the player region free? 6. For BD content, I assume Sony forced implementation of region coding for player certification so what region is it? Thanks |

RE: Some C-200 Questions With BD Drive
i can answer just on few of these from users perspective:
- yes you can play 3D movies via HDMI v1.3, but i was able to play just MKV files from HDD. when i tried to play original 3D avatar BR it ended with error that my blu-ray player does not support 3D - PCH is both DVD and BD region limited, but you are able to change the region via short code. this change is limited for 5 times but i have seen some app to reset the counter so you are able to change it whenever you want. i can't answer to the rest ones but hopefully someone will come.. and i will be glad if someone can answer to playing 3D BRs too. thanks |
