[Feature] Lundman's A300 wish list

* When using Source, or Home, button. It always lands on the Apps icon. Either let us pick the default icon, or, perhaps better, land of the last used icon.

* UPNP, being able to push in "40" to jump to the page containing 40 would be nice.

* UPNP, the "Sort by" option is dead. (dc:title, or upnp:originalTrackNumber only). It should use GetSortCapabilities, and offer those to users (or implement it in the upnp client). Very least, sorting by Date.

* UPNP, "delete" (and half of the other file operations) don't appear to work.

* When browsing, NFS/SMB/upnp it would be neat if "folder.jpg" could be used to change background per directory.

* Flash HTML renderer, for using old myihome style access

Otherwise, very nice. I especially like it just asks if I want the new firmware the first time I booted it. The main theme has more colour than the V8, which is good, but a little more would be fine too.

Good topic!

1) get CSI working for A-300
2) get Kartina.TV working on A-300
3) better music player (from a list of MP3s you go for PLAY, and then it eventually starts, pushing for next song still takes a while)
+ improve usability
+ I guess there is enough CPU power for some nice visual effects while playing
4) enable Apple´s AirPlay protocol. I´d really love to see the iPhone/iPad working together with the PCH. Select music on iPAD, play it on the PCH.
5) generally, make it usable from the iPhone. See e.g. how Synology is developing apps for their customers.
6) a good old on/off switch would be nice

I agree that the last used should be what it lands on or we should be able to choose it.
As for me i never use apps at all i did test them for 5min on every beta FW when i was on the team, and have not used it otherwise one time since the c-200 came out.

And the other points is good too.

Can that be done without paying apple a couple of millions per device in license fees

Don't know about AirVideo specifically, but using UPNP MediaRenderer it is very easy to send URLs/music around and make PCH play. (EyeCon, PlugPlayer...).

Using llink transcoder gives you the re-encodin needed for the shitty playback hardware (iphone/ipad).

As I -and many others I guess- use my A300 mainly for video on its internal HDD i'd like to have an icon
which directly guides me to my local content.
Now it is a USB (?) icon which is Local Content, first it shows harddisk and then to the maps upon.
Way too many clicks on the remote IMO.

I'd also like to be able to change the standard Icon it lands upon!

It runs on A300, not sure there is a CSI for 300, so just use 200

For me

-App iPad or Android for remote NMJ (Music, Video, Photos)
-Add Protocol rtsp for steam TV Adsl France (600 Channel TV !!)
-Record Name and Password when navigate network share
-Access directly NMJ when start PCH. We must choose in setup if NMJ (Video, Audio, Photo)

Agree with some of these:

Way too many clicks on the remote to get to internal storage, especially if you use NMJ and want to get to TV Shows
Access NMJ on start up would be ideal,
Pushing 'Home' should allow you to choose where it lands, whether it be last used or a Favourite,

I'd also like the option to update or scan for new content NMJ whilst within Jukebox mode rather than have to launch the Manager.

you would have to access it via the upnp servers, you won't see the html based "skins" for it. Although I vaguely remember a bug where you can't see localhost upnp servers.
