2nd NMT

Hi all,

I've an A-200 in living room on main 50" plasma. It is connected to the network and get media from my Linux box with YAMJ and Eversion jukebox.

I'm thinking on a 2nd player for the bedroom (there is a network plug available near the TV) on a 32" LCD.

What do you suggest ? Another Popcorn or a PopBox ?

Price comparison I could get (can I post real prices?):
A-210 - 100%
PopBox V8 - 84%
A-300 - 144%


There are show-stopping limitations with the PopBox ? (note that I only play avi+mkv via the network and using YAMJ+Eversion)

I am in the same shoes as you, deciding for a third player, so far I am swaying toward the Popbox v8, I am not a 100% sure whether it works with YAMJ+Eversion, why don't you check out the popbox forums.

I'm surprised by the lack of suggestions... are we a rare species ?

Eversion works with the v8 you just need to install the yamj app
if the v8 was available in my country I would get it, as I need no drives in the nmt

I could get it from an online reseller.

I doesn't need the internal drive too, I've all media on the network. The chipset is the same ? I'm thinking about interface and movie player performance...

I havea A300 in the bedroom with a SSD in it and its totally silent. However the PopboxV8 is tiny in comparison and you could even hide it out of view behind the TV or something with just the IR remote in view.
It depends on if you intend to have storage in the device. If so then NMT, if not then perhaps the V8 due to the lower cost.

The V8 and the A300 are just disappeared from the reseller I found...
