[AUDIO] PCH-A110 no longer decoding any audio?

Hey guys, been a while since I posted here!

I seem to be having a problem with my A-110, it doesn't seem to be decoding audio anymore. Video is fine. Audio pass-through is fine and my reciever decodes that fine. But files with MPEG1 (MP3) audio or AAC audio (my receiver does not decode AAC) have no audio anymore. This happened randomly. It was working one day and not the next. Tried a reboot.

I have no idea what happened. Is there a separate chip that decodes audio that could have gone bad? I upgraded the FW to the latest, just in case that was the problem and still no go.

This has never happened to anyone? My A-110 no longer plays audio for files that it is NOT passing through raw...

my A100 does not play audio in some videos also . in some i change the audio from analog to digital and it works but most of the videos need re-encoding in order to play.
i think is a codec issue. is there a way to add codecs to the pch?

This isn't a codec issue. These files used to play fine before. My PCH no longer decodes any audio. It will pass it through to my receiver and that will play it, but it doesn't decode anything itself anymore...

The problem you're having is that some files you're playing have audio not supported by the PCH. It works when you set it to RAW pass through because your TV or receiver can decode it while your PCH can't.

This is not the problem I'm having because my PCH is no longer decoding audio that it CAN and DID decode.

Hi. I have found out that I have the same problem. However I have no solution

[edit] Ok I found solution for me - I just turned volume on my PCH back up. The two top right buttons on PCH remote control volume. They only control decoded audio not passthrough, so passthrough audio played fine, while decoded audio wasn't playing at all.[/edit]

Oh man, now I feel stupid. Same problem here! Volume was down to -15. My niece must have done it while playing with the remote!

Dont feel too stupid. Ive just had exactly the same problem.

Im blaming my 2 year old!
