It's only compiled differently because of different hardware (CPU) requirements. Usually, you get an "Request can not be processed. Press return key to return to the previous screen" message because of NMT not having enough resources. Maybe are you running too much torrents, or too much applications? Clean the cache first. Go to "setup", "maintenance", and press file mode button on remote when you're at the firmware information screen. If still doesn't works, disable or stop some applications (through CSI) or services (through Gaya UI setup) and try again. And if still doesn't works, you can try installing again NMT Apps (better from USB). You'll have an option for preserving HDD content. How many torrents are too much? Essentially, it depends on how many files are you sharing/downloading simultaneously, how many peers are you connected to, and even from how many trackers are you querying. There's not only one factor. You'll have to experience yourself. I usually set limit to 80 peers, 8 per torrent, and no more than 8 downloading simultaneously, and I get no freezings. But I usually download from only two or sometimes three private trackers. I guess if you're trying to download several 50-90 files per torrents, querying 10 trackers each torrent, you'll stress your short on resources NMT in a different way. RE: [ Transmission CSI ] Version 2.42-dath1
thanks. i didn't know how to clear cache. i wanted to reinstall nmt aps and install later the ltu package instead of this one, since it seems to be more stable than this. but when i choose to do fresh reinstall, or preserve media, from online source it just says no updates available and does not install anything. mybe from usb it will be better.
even when i had only one torrent seeding to no one this error hapened so i don't think it's a problem of resources, also i dont't have currently any other csi package intalled, of the nmt apps i only have torrent, samba and ftp server on. i have max 20 peers per torrent for a maximum number of peers total of 100. |

It showed up also on my A110 during testing, before the release of the package. If you want to upgrade manually, you can do so: 1. Backup Transmission configuration: 'settings.json' & 'stats.json' files (option), and 'resume' & 'torrents' folders (important). 2. Extract .zip CSI package to a folder on your PC. Then extract "Transmission.tar" inside to "Apps/Transmission" folder on NMT (you can do that through 7-Zip on Windows). 3. Copy the backupped .json files and folders to "Apps/Transmission/config" for restoring your current downloads without having to recheck all torrent files. 4. Connect to NMT through CSI. Transmission 2.42 will show on installed applications tab. "Start on boot" will be checked. Go to "Extra -> Advanced ->Restart NMT". After reboot connect through Transmission Remote and check status. Transmission 2.42 will be running now on your NMT. And if you got any problem, you can uninstall it smooth through NMT CSI. What is the max download speed on a110? I have about 1.1MB/s on v2.42. |

(11-24-2011 10:03 PM)azizi Wrote: Hello. I upgrade manually transmission and it work so far so good. Well, you'll have to test it by yourself. I get 1MB/s (10Mbps) data line, and sometimes Transmission 2.21 was peeking at 1.45MB/s, but that's impossible. And don't know if 2.42 is showing more accurate speed, but 1.1MB/s is a very good parameter. Probably the A110 has not enough resources for getting more. But if you get no freezings, don't ask for more. I haven't reached more than 750KB/s with 2.42, but I hope it'll get higher. What will be interesting for people like you, reporting a very good download speed, is if you could report if you've uTP enabled or not. You can check that on last line in settings.json file (you'll have to stop Transmission, and maybe reboot without the "Start on boot" flag). But more easily, just looking for the "T" flag on the peers tag through Transmission Remote. Could you do that? RE: [ Transmission CSI ] Version 2.42-dath1
Hi DathRarhek,
Thank you very much for your package. This is maybe the best release for my HDX 1000 box. I don't know if it is the bugfixes of transmission itself or your package, still it is the best ever for me. It has been years since the last time I downloaded more than 1 torrent without crashing my box. And one more thing, if you have time to write down detailed how to crosscompile I would be greatfull. If not could you send me a link where I could find a good guide? Thanks |

I didn't know we could check uTP through the Transmission web UI. I never use it. Thanks for pointing that. You made it easier than all my previous explanations!
