RE: [ Transmission CSI ] v2.42-dath2 (12 December 2011)
I installed the package (hdx1000, firmware flashed to A110) using CSI, but Transmission does not start. When I try to do it manually (using daemon.sh start), i get the following error message "/share/Apps/Transmission/bin/transmission-daemon: can't load library 'libevent-2
.0.so.5'" After rollback to 2.21 i can start Transmission again. any suggestions on how to solve? |

Can anyone help me? Ah.. I haven't included it in the package because I thought no one would use that. I'm not at home right now, but I can place that binary online once I am. In the meantime, an transmission-remote of an older package might still work. Out of interest, why do you use it this way? The weird thing about my issue is that before somehow it worked meaning i was able to keep the setting to save all my download to my external HD even if i restart my popcorn. But i really do not know how i have done it. So both the upload speed limit as the download directory went back to default? With other words, no setting is being saved between restarts? Are you sure you are stopping Transmission in CSI before editing settings.json? With other words you did not install 2.42 properly, or uninstall 2.21 properly. Please uninstall 2.21, double check that /share/Apps/Transmission has been deleted, then install 2.42. |

RE: [ Transmission CSI ] v2.42-dath2 (12 December 2011)
I have installed Tr2.42 using CSI Gaya on NMT as well as plug-in "torrent expander". The issues are slow response remote access to transmission (via Transmission GUI application on PC) and unstable (need to
restart frequently). Remove the plugin, did help on interface speed but still unstable. Therefore, decided to go back to 2.21, then. |

I can set different settings and they are being saved just fine. Can you try setting the directory with the webinterface: http://[nmt-ip]:9091/transmission/web/ If that doesn't work try editing settings.json directly. Stop Transmission with CSI, then go to Apps/Transmission/config and edit settings.json. |

Notepad++ will do. But it really does sound like your settings are set to default each time. Can you still confirm that also any other setting is being set to default after a restart? You're not doing something stupid like pulling the power cord to power down the NMT? |

RE: [ Transmission CSI ] v2.42-dath2 (12 December 2011)
Hey DathRarhek,
I'm trying your version out now but I stumbled into a problem with Transmission Remote Gui. I get the following to errors when I try to start it up: "JSON element 'peersKnown' not found" and then "Could not convert variant of type (Null) into type (Int64)". After that the the Transmission Remote Gui does nothing and I can just shut it off. The Transmission Web interface does work however. But since it's my mom's A200 and she is more used to the utorrent gui, I let her use TRG. So I'd like to get it fixed. [EDIT] Never mind, it seems the problem was with the (aged) version of TRG. The latest version seems to be doing just fine And another thing: I thought there was a setting to dele the torrent-files after succesful download, but that doesn't seem to be in the web interface. Is there a way to accomplish that? Or at least to delete the torrentfile after I remove it from the list. [EDIT] Well the setting was in TRG and seems to work, so that's solved as well Another odd thing. Is it possible the config/torrents works as a watch folder by default? My mom wasn't able to add the torrents to TRG because of the previous error. But when I checked the web interface they were already downloading. It might also be an affect of TRG because I had the same thing happen with version 2.21 sometimes. ... And on a side note: You mentioned earlier to someone with permission problem to " chown -R nmt:nmt" to the whole share folder. Is that "safe"? Can't that cause conflictions with other applications? Then any torrents in config/torrents are started. By the way, in Ger's packages there was a bug (introduced at compile-configure) that didn't allow the watch-dir setting to work. This has been fixed, so it's possible to add a real watch directory again. Did I really say to "chown -R nmt:nmt /share"? That would be a bit too much. Although I don't see any issue with it. As far as I know all programs run as either root or nmt. As root has access to nmt files per definition having nmt own everything should not have side effects. |

Is there any way to do a fast or no recheck for previously downloaded torrents, without having the files from resume/*?

Though that would explain why (with the older version of TRG which couldn't open torren-files) the torrents were downloading after the reboot. I first noticed the real bug of downloading removed files again yesterday because it (in previous versions) was downloading removed torrents. Just like there was some sort of cache somewhere that would put the torrent files back after a reboot. Maybe it's related to that function in TRG to remove succesfully downloaded torrents. Because it was also there in older versions of Transmission. To finally remove them I stopped the torrents. Stopped transmission, and manually removed the torrents from the folder. But that's pretty exhaustive as you can imagine... Yeah, you actually said it in post 82. Root can indeed take over, but it might be "dangerous" when people start messing about.
