No video playing movie on composite, menu is fine.
Hi,
Last couple of days I was having a major issue with my PCH A-110. After updating the firmware from 01-17-090125-15-POP-403 to the latest version 01-17-110314-15-POP-403 I got a black screen playing video. The sound was there, but just no picture at all. Everything else worked like it should; menu's, music, photo's, just video playback was broken. I still have a SD tv (10y old Sony 28" widescreen, and still no need for upgrade) and I have the PCH connected using a s-video cable. I also tried composite, but it also failed. As the problem manifested after updating the firmware, I rolled back to my old fw version, but it didn't matter. Still no video. I then tried reflashing the PCH with the firmware recovery method found here. I got the old firmware, but still no video. I upgraded again to my old 2009 firmware, but still nothing. After hours of searching the internet, and these forums I just found an interesting one: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...?tid=13873 It isn't completely the same issue I had, but it couldn't get worse than what I already had ![]() Guess what... It worked... I got my video back... In short this is what to do: Install telnetd on your device. I used the superb NMT CSI written by Ger Teunis. After installation type the following in a command prompt (windows 7 doesn't have a telnet client default, so you could use Putty for that): PHP Code: telnet <ip adres of your PCH> /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK # Then type the following commands: Code: pflash del saturationClose the telnet session by typing: exit Now if you had the same issue I had, you have your picture back when playing video. So my problem is solved. I just post this so that it might be a bit easier to find for other people with similar issues. |
