RE: NMJToolbox2 - A Windows Editor for NMJv2 - 1.0.4.5 -Update 28/7/2012
Hi Rom,
first of all REALLY GREAT WORK!!! ![]() After trying YamJ and UMC and so on I gave up on Movie Managers on the Popcorn Hour Series because of cryptic GUIs, countless bugs and sometimes very limited administration possibilities, and browsed the last years(!) through the file listings of my movies and TV shows on the PH - Remote in one, iPad with IMDB in the other hand - till I found your great tool! Im just beginning to discover it (respectively NMJ V2), but I think NMJ V2 & NMJToolbox2 are a perfect combination - there are only some questions and/or things that confuse me: 1. Right now I'm having a collection of over 800 movies and it's still growing - everytime I delete a movie in the list the list jumps back to the first movie and if the tree was expanded it collapses - this is a bit annoying if you have to rearrange the whole database (several reasons). Maybe it is easy to change. 2. In the NMJ frontend it is possible to mark the movie as "seen" or "unseen" however in the toolbox the "Play Count" can not be altered - or I am blind and this option hides anywhere [solved] found it in the context menu - I am blind! Beside that what does the function "Fix Video Count and Type" in the utilities section do? I overflew the help on your site but unfortunately the utilities aren't explained there (what does rebuild index do? I mean I should use it if?) Thanks in advance Christian Samsung UE55D8090, SkyHD, Denon AVR4311 & DBP2012UD, Teufel Theater 8 THX ultra2, Popcorn Hour 1xC300 2xC200, NAS: 1 x Thecus N8800 with 24TB and 2 x Thecus N5500 with 7,5TB each, |

RE: NMJToolbox2 - A Windows Editor for NMJv2 - 1.0.4.6 -Update 04/08/2012
Hi Christian,
Thanks for the praise, I am glad you find the tool useful. Firstly the 'help' on the website is for the origial NMJToolbox (for the 200 series). When I wrote NMJToolbox2 I improved a lot of things, the way options work and totally re-designed the user interface so most of that help file will be of little use (some things have been re-used from the original though such as selecting internet images). Let have a tackle at some of your queries.... (08-14-2012 04:37 PM)Gambler Wrote: 1. Right now I'm having a collection of over 800 movies and it's still growing - everytime I delete a movie in the list the list jumps back to the first movie and if the tree was expanded it collapses - this is a bit annoying if you have to rearrange the whole database (several reasons). Maybe it is easy to change. Depending on what you want it is an easy change. Decisions need to be made like: Which node do you select? (you have deleted the one that was selected, do you pick the one above?) Do you want that node expanding (even if it was not expanded before the delete? Do you want all nodes that were expanded before the delete to be expanded after? The first 2 are simple. The last one is more complex as Windows does not remember what was/was not expanded when refreshing so I would have to store all of the node states before the delete and then after the refresh go through every node and expand them. Not hard just more coding and would make refreshes slower. Quote:2. In the NMJ frontend it is possible to mark the movie as "seen" or "unseen" however in the toolbox the "Play Count" can not be altered - or I am blind and this option hides anywhere [solved] found it in the context menu - I am blind! Glad you found it There are a lot of optons in the context menus. The next release I have added all of the options to the menus on the top and 80% of them now have keyboard shortcuts which should make things faster to do.E.g. To delete an entry hit <delete>. F5 refreshes the tree view F6 expands all nodes <shift>F6 collapses all nodes <ctrl>N will add a new entry (context driven, if you are on the movies tab it will add a movie, on the TV tab it will add a new TV Series <ctrl>M will query the selected media file with mediainfo and update the DB entry etc etc... Quote:Beside that what does the function "Fix Video Count and Type" in the utilities section do? There are bugs in the NMJ where a file is put into the database as a movie but it is given a 'Season & Series' record. Also, you may get TV shows that have episodes listed as 'Unknown' and you cannot play them. This option on the utilities menu goes through all the DB and sets all files that have a season record to a TV show, everything else as a movie and it counts how many episodes are in the DB for each and corrects the episode count. This will stop the NMJ showing these 'unknown' episodes. It should be ok to run on your database, it should not change anything if everything is OK. Quote:what does rebuild index do? I mean I should use it if? The index defines where in the 'category' section a particular title appears. Sometime the NMJ shows entries in the wrong section (eg a movie called Underworld' is showing in the 'R' section). Rebuild Index does what it says, it clears all the entries out of the index and looks at the 'Search Title' of every movie/TV show you have and re-inserts a record in the correct section. I hope this answers your questions and was of help. I need to find time to get around to doing a help file but I find help files very tedious to do If any kind soul wants to have a go at one and send it to me I can correct any errors/wrong assumtions and will credit you with it in the application and NMJToolbox.net

RE: NMJToolbox2 - A Windows Editor for NMJv2 - 1.0.4.6 -Update 04/08/2012
Thanks for the tool. It really helps with the PCH!
Quick question: I am trying to add a movie and keep getting this error: ************** Exception Text ************** System.ArgumentException: Column 'imdb_id' does not belong to table base_table. at System.Data.DataRow.GetDataColumn(String columnName) at System.Data.DataRow.get_Item(String columnName) at NMJToolbox2.frmMain.tsbAddNewMovie_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.RaiseEvent(Object key, EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripButton.OnClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleClick(EventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.HandleMouseUp(MouseEventArgs e) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.FireEventInteractive(EventArgs e, ToolStripItemEventType met) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripItem.FireEvent(EventArgs e, ToolStripItemEventType met) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mea) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ScrollableControl.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.ToolStrip.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam) I am able to add other movies, but not this one. This is a movie I deleted from the db then changed the directory name then tried to readd. I appear to have broken something in the db. Any ideas? TIA...Josh |

I suspect it is trying to get info from theMovieDB and there is some error I am not catching. I will try to re-create it if you give me this info. If I can't I may come back to you and ask for a copy of your media.db to see what it is that is causing the problem. You could also try the 'Delete Orphaned Records' on the utilities tab in case some stray records are in your DB causing the error. Your issue will be to do with incorrect path settings in the settings menu. Can you post the contents of your NMJToolbox2.parameters file (it is in the same folder as the NMJToolbox2.exe file)?

(08-16-2012 03:31 PM)Paperplane Wrote: I can't post url i switch my ip by PC_IP : I have removed the irrelevant lines the above 2 left are what the issue is. I assume that your media files are on the same PC that you are running NMJToolbox2 on? If so, the paths are wrong. You do not need to have a unc path in there (ie \\PC_IP\...\....\ etc). You need to set this to what the local PC would use to access the films folder. open windows explorer and browse to the 'Films' folder. Once there copy what is in Windows Explorer's address bar and paste that into the 'Windows Path' for the films entry in the NMJToolbox Path settings. Do exactly the same for TV, browse to the 'Series' folder and paste that path into the entery in NMJToolbox2 for the Series entry. Once done, OK out and restart NMJToolbox2 (just to make sure the new settings are loaded). Try adding a film and see if it plays. I have found out what the issue is.... but not why. Basically NMJToolbox2 is getting the basic movie info from TheMovieDB but TheMovieDB is not sending a TMDBID for that film (its blank). I get the basic info to get the TMDBID and then re-query theMovieDB with that code to get the detailed info like cast etc. As this is blank it is throwing an error. Firstly I will have to find out why TheMovieDB is not sending a TMDBID (it is very unusual!) - this needs fixing on their site. But, I also should catch this error in the program and not try to query with an empty ID (you would just get no in-depth info returned). I will keep playing with it to see what I can sort out and put any fix needed into the next release which I will probably release tomorrow or Saturday. Edit: I have it fixed Josh, not exactly sure what is going on with the release out now (many more changes have been made) but with the next release I have successfully added that film without error. If on the next release you still get errors then it points to a problem in your database and I will be happy to debug it and have a look at what issues exist in it. Let me know after the next release. RE: NMJToolbox2 - A Windows Editor for NMJv2 - 1.0.4.6 -Update 04/08/2012
Question about Paths. Here is what I have:
ID PCH Path Windows Path 1 movies \\baileystore\videos\movies My NAS movie directory is referenced from the PC running NMJ_V2 using the above Windows path. There is a sub directory called DVD below movies and each title is in a subdirectory under DVD. When I opened my media.db with NMJ_V2 the movie file references are movies\DVD\title. Which makes sense to me because that is the way the PCH would see it. Now when I add a title using NMJ_V2, I browse to it, select the movie file, add the IMDB number and voila NMJ_V2 does it's magic and I have the title in my list. However, the movie file reference is \\baileystore\video\movies\dvd\title rather than \movies\dvd\title. I believe I have my paths set up wrong. Can someone explain to me how I'm supposed to set it up so that when I add a movie the movie file reference will be \movies\dvd\title? Isn't that what the PCH will need to find the movie files? TIA Josh |

(08-17-2012 10:36 PM)jlayer3 Wrote: Question about Paths. Here is what I have: Hi Josh, I assume that both the media files and media.db are both stored on your NAS? If so there could be 2 issues: 1. In the Settings->paths option there are 2 dropdown combo boxes. Both should be set to 'Network Share' If they are both set to this then I believe it is to do with case sensitivity. You can handle this in 2 ways. Browse to the 'movies' folder in Windows explorer and paste in exactly what is shown in the address bar in explorer. OR (the best way) Map a drive letter to the Movies folder (eg F:\)and simply put exactly that drive letter in the windows path (with the :\ and in uppercase as Windows drive letters are uppercase by default). I know windows is not case sensitive but NMJToolbox does a string replace to convert to the PCH path on an exact case match (plus the PCH is case sensitive).
