[NMJ v1] Problems with thetvdb.com

Problems with thetvdb.com
I had some problems with my existing NMJ database, so I deleted it in order to generate a new one. Previously I wasn't using thetvdb.com for TV shows, but still imdb.com.

I can now see episode names on certain shows, nice feature! But, I do have a couple of problems with it. The naming scheme for movies is like this:

The Bourne Identity (2002)
- The Bourne Identity (2002).jpg
- The Bourne Identity (2002).m4v

For series (when it still used imdb.com) it was kinda the same:

The Avengers (1961)
- The Avengers (1961) S05E01.jpg
- The Avengers (1961) S05E01.mkv
  • Beavis and Butt-Head Do America (1996) is sorted under TV shows and not under movies. Placing a nfo file with the imdb.com title doesn't fix anything.
  • The TV series The Saint (1962) is categorized under TV shows but it doesn't show me anything. No episodes, no poster, no info, I can't even play it. While it was working great before using thetvdb.org. Naming scheme is the same as for The Avengers. When I manually try to refresh it, it says 'error occurred' or something.

How do I solve these issues? Is the naming scheme for TV shows right, now it's been using thetvdb.com instead of imdb.com? Is there something similar with nfo files for thetvdb.com as it is with imdb.com?

RE: Problems with thetvdb.com
For Beavis and Butt-Head Do America, simply enter the details page of that movie, bring up the small movie details menu and choose 'Edit' in this list. Here you'll be able to change that file from TV Serie to Movie which will make it visible in the 'Movies' list.
If necessary, you can rescan this particular file by looking it up as moviename or using the IMDB number.

Adding a .nfo file after it was scanned doesn't have any effect. This only works for new files which aren't in the database yet. Once it's in the database, adding a .nfo file or changing it doesn't do anything.

With the series 'The Saint', do you see some 'undefined' vaules in the details page? If so, it's a bug I think (or a bad lookup of data somewhere) which I haven't figured out yet how to solve this except using external tools to edit the database on a pc.

RE: Problems with thetvdb.com
Thanks for your reply. I've deleted Beavis and Butt-Head Do America from my A-200. And copied it back to my A-200. Together with the nfo file it has now scanned it as a movie. Nice!

On The Saint everything is undefined (Director, Genre, Cast). No synopsis, no episodes, no subtitles even no poster (while the file is there). I can't seem to find a log file or so. Strange bug!

PS: if I manually try to search for The Saint I get this whole list, I select The Saint (1962) TV Series and it returns:

An error has occurred. Your request cannot be processed.

RE: Problems with thetvdb.com
I had a look at the entry for 'The Saint (1962)' on thetvdb and noticed that the imdb entry was blank. I have updated this to tt0055701 which is the correct entry on imdb.

See if this fixes the problem and if it does this could be the solution to problems that some people are having with nmj not detecting tv series etc. All that is required is to go on thetvdb or the moviedb and ensure that the imdb field has the same entry as imdb.

I was having problems with series such as Street Hawk, Fall Of Eagles, Hornblower and Sharpe. Ensuring that the imdb field on thetvdb or themoviedb was populated fixed the problem and all were detected correctly.

RE: Problems with thetvdb.com
The Saint (1962) was already working a about a week ago, when I did a total rescan (removing the nmj database). I guess it was error by the cache server. Now all is fine for The Saint (1962).
