mounting ext3 drive on usb
I just recently installed a new 2.5TB internal HDD in my PCH and removed my existing 1.5TB. I formatted and setup the new 2.5TB just fine.
When I put my original 1.5TB (that was formatted in EXT by the PCH) in a USB external HD enclosure and tried to access it from within the PCH interface to copy files, it didnt allow me access to the drive. The popup says that the USB Drive B has been loaded, but the USB icon has the red cross on it so I can't see any files. Does anyone have any idea why it wouldnt let me access the drive via USB? EDIT: I have a Western Digital Elements enclosure |

RE: mounting ext3 drive on usb
I had a thought that perhaps the drive wouldn't mount because it has my original apps on it, and hence the popcorn hour was confused with trying to boot two copies of apps from different sources.
could this be the case? |

RE: mounting ext3 drive on usb
I submitted a support request, they said that the internal hdd cannot then be mounted as an external drive.
I guess I'll have to transfer my files manually and then reformat before trying to use it externally. |

RE: mounting ext3 drive on usb
You could just delete the small partitions. Just leave the largest partition.
