Many thanks for this great tool and the new features in this new version.
I am quite new to the Popcorn world, and this porgram made my life much sweeter after having encounter so many weaknesses in the natif Popcorn NMJ managment program.

One question about the Tool menu:
What means "WTV to MPG"

Thanks, glad it is useful .

WTV to MPG is a wrapper for running two utilities that convert Windows Media Files to mpg, avi... any other format. I mostly added this in for my own use as I use a Windows 7 based PC as a PVR/Server but the WTV format files are very large (typically over 1Gb for 30min) and mostly can only be played by Windows Media Center. I convert them to avi and reduce there resolution so they only have about a 300Mb file size.

The steps are:
1) WTVConverter to convert from WTV format to dvr-ms. This program is bundled with Windows 7
2) I use FFmpeg to then convert the dvr-ms file into avi format

I have tried to build this in such a way as any tools can be used to perform the conversion by the use of replaceable command line arguments. See the help for my details.

i added the serie band of brothers but its not visible in serie only in movie.
how can i change that.
i didn't find that option only movie / tv / home.
how can i change that?

and my suggestion is can you add moviemeter.nl for dutch synopse ?

Hi 1noname,

To make your video part of a TV Episode tick "TV" under the Type options. This should then allow you to either select and existing TV Episode or create a new TV Episode to link this Video to, that TV Episode is then be linked to a TV Season which is linked to a TV Series.

Depending what is ticked in the Video Type box will determine what Show Type's are displayed in the Shows selection list on the Shows tab:
"TV" list includes TV Episode
"Movie" list includes Movie & Movie Multipart
"Home" list includes Home Video

When creating a new Show from the Shows tab if the TV Type is ticked will always create a new TV Episode regardless of any other Types that may be ticked. If Movie and/or Home is ticked will create a new Movie where you can select the Show Type from Movie, Movie Multipart and Home Video.

TV Shows have a strict hierarchy of TV Series -> (1 or more) -> TV Seasons -> (1 or more) -> TV Episodes -> (1 or more) -> Videos (with TV ticked). In the case where a TV Series has no Seasons a Season will still need the be created.

I hope this makes sense and answer your question.

i did found the problem.
i changed the name from disc 1 in to disk 2 (like my other tv serie) and there it whas under tv serie.



i have did tick TV under type but nothing happens.
i did find the option to change the name into tv episode but when i change it all the tv ep were gone from that map.
and wen want to put them back in i got a error?

Hi 1noname,

I'm not sure what's happening there, episodes are connected together using an internal ID number so changing the name shouldn't change the mappings. in the "add" list I only show episodes that are not currently associated with a show, are you creating a new tv episode? What was the error? Might help if you could turn on tracing from the option menu, repeat the steps and send me the trace file.

I'm not sure how this has happened but some how you had a video directly linked to a TV Series which should not be possible. Did you create this linkage using NMJED3? If so can you remember the steps you performed to do that? I'm not sure why you got the error message either, did you try to drag/drop or copy/paste the video back into the TV Series?

At this stage I have been unable to make either of these things happen in NMJED3.

I assume from the end of the trace you were able to successfully re-link the video with the new Movie entry?

so i changed it back to movie.

Hello ufitzit,

great tool! I love the new playlist editing feature.
I noticed a tiny issue: In the list of available playlist the total number of tracks is not updated after adding tacks to a playlist using NMJED3 (at least not on my A300).
A very useful enhancement would be to be able to change the sequence of a group of selected tracks in the playlist. Of cause drag and drop change of sequence with multiple select would be nice, too.
Also to create or delete new playlist directly from the tool.

Hi ch1mera2,

Did you mean how do you access the nas from NMJED? Some of the share formats aren't supported yet by NMJED, I need to do some research on how I can handle these. If your question is more relating to operating the Popcorn Hour you may get more help in one of the general threads.

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't updating the total number of tracks, fixed in the next release. I will also add in changing the order of groups of tracks and updating the play lists from the tool.

You may be able to help me here was some information on play lists, one of the reasons I did not do things like updating total tracks and writing back playlist was I wasn't sure how the Popcorn hour interacted with the play list files. Can you edit playlist from the A300? if so does it update the playlist file? Do you know what file formats it supports?.

Either way I will try to add in support for writing out to as many formats as I can find details for, they are mostly fairly simple text files/xml formats.

thanks for fixing the missing update of the total number of tracks when adding tracks to a playlist.

So far I only used playlists in NMJ and not file based playlists. From browsing posts on playlists in this forum I understand that .m3u playlists are supported, but that the playlist file and the music files have to be in the same directory. I use playlist to combine multiple albums that are spread in different directories so .m3u files don't work for me.
That's why the NMJ based playlists are so useful, but I need a proper tool to edit them quickly. So your NMJED3 tool is very handy!

I'm looking forward for the next release with more playlist features!

I must be missing something here .

Only interested really in sorting my music but :

After having created an NMJ db for music, crap is all over the place on the PCH now. Multiple album covers for one album, each containing one song. tried using the NMJv3 to tidy up but its too much. So many songs in probably close to 60 "other" folders, its just too much to sort each one out one at a time < drag an drop >

Am I missing something that is supposed to make life easier

The folders on my NAS were perfect but NMJ didnt seem to like that.

i did the most of my mp3 with mp3tag.
the rest i drag / drop one at a time
