Corrupt or locked media.db
My NMJ db keeps getting in a bad state and the only way I have found to fix it is to delete it and start again. I rebuilt it last night, refreshed NMJ this morning and everything looked good, so I powered off my c200 and went to work, but when I turned it on tonight it was hung again!!!! All I get is a white screen. I am unable to open the db from my pch or any other sqlite editor (base, sqlite db browser 2.0 b1, or macport sqlite3). Please help! This is driving me mad!!!

c200 > hdmi > Adcom GFR-700 > hdmi/dvi > samsung dlp
c200 > digital coax > Adcom GFR-700
c200 > wired > smb > imac > firewire > Drobo
BD - LG CH08LS10 firmware 2.0
SSD - OCZ 30Gb

Yes. I have seen this problem come and go for months at a time, but it has been occurring all the time.

RE: Corrupt or locked media.db
one of the top issues with with sqllite is nfs problems with locking the db when in use. its even in there faq of why a db might get corrupted it list as one of the top reasons. im not sure if there is a fix but might be a place to start

First of all, Thank you

Found this: SQLite uses POSIX advisory locks to implement locking on Unix. On Windows it uses the LockFile(), LockFileEx(), and UnlockFile() system calls. SQLite assumes that these system calls all work as advertised. If that is not the case, then database corruption can result. One should note that POSIX advisory locking is known to be buggy or even unimplemented on many NFS implementations (including recent versions of Mac OS X) and that there are reports of locking problems for network filesystems under Windows. Your best defense is to not use SQLite for files on a network filesystem.

I need to move my Drobo locally until this is fixed. Would you agree?

RE: Corrupt or locked media.db
there is not much fixing lol. sqllite is not going to fix it. syabas cant change db, and nfs in osx is not going to change. maybe try smb see if that helps or a diff nfs server.

RE: Corrupt or locked media.db
Switching to smb fixed it. Only when I upgraded to Lion Mac removed Samba and I had to re-install it myself from macports which was simple enough and I am back up and running now. Db issue look to have stabilized. Thx.
