RE: [6 December 2011] C-300 Announcement, Specifications, Screenshots, UI Presentation
does this one have the same power supply as the C200? because may be I will save the 50 bucks (shipping to canada) that I have to spend for a new PS and put it towards this.

I'd like some reassurance on the power supply and build quality of this new unit before going with another popcorn hour product though.....

C200 -HDMI Video & Toslink to Sony 5.1 DTS Reciever
HDD: 500GB WD Blue 2.5" BEVTx
DVD drive: Samsung SH-203B
TV: One 400LBS 36" Sony MEGA CRT 16:9 for my c200 & a Panasonic 42" Plasma (TCP42C1) 720p for the bedroom.

So, network speeds still are not Gigabit. Improved over the C-200, but still not where they should be on a Gigabit network. Huh

You cant do much with a low level speed chip. even an intel atom chip wont put out full gbit

The Features say 'True Gigabit Ethernet'

Wouldn't that be somewhat misleading to say that?

Nope its advertising play on words. the phy Nic that makes the physical connection is gigabit and connects at gigabit. But the supporting hardware behind it is not so fast. Same things are written on almost all lower power NAS' and other products. There is no way to say faster then 100mbit but wont achieve full gigabit speed in advertising.

Or saying 'slightly faster than 100mbit' would not sell as many units.

So really, this unit is not much of an upgrade over the c-200, especially on the network side of things.

My wdtv live already outperforms the c-200 on the network, so not much of an upgrade.

Well, that was kinda rude and uncalled for.

Same, network cable, same switch, same nas, same amp, same tv, 26GB movie, the wdtv plays it fine, without a hitch, my c-200 lags and stutters.

I will agree the quality is not the same, but at least I can watch the movie.

I'm just treating you how your treating us. Your C200 playback issue not only doesn't belong in this thread it has nothing to do with the speeds the chips can do.. If you really care about your videos playing then maybe you can stop assuming you know whats wrong and post real information in an appropriate thread and forum section so when syabas does circle around to the C200 firmware it might get addressed... This is just going to piss off the community and I'll tell you exactly what I think of you.

Treated you how? Not once did I swear at you, or disrespect you.

I guess if this is how Syabas is going to allow you to treat other posters on here, our business is not needed.

Trying to convince people that they shouldn't buy a c300 isn't disrespectful to you? Post your real problem in a thread that's appropriate and stop bashing syabas.

I was not trying to convince anyone to do anything.

Simply pointing out that the network speeds are not as advertised.

This problem has been noted many times, in many threads, no need for another one.

If your playback issue was posted you would be watching some movies instead of bringing up "the problem" in this thread. hypocrite.
