I think it is pretty clear Netflix isn't going to happen. There are many netflix streaming devices for less than $100. (Roku, Apple Tv, etc.)

You can get a Roku as cheap at $50.

Sorry to all if my last post was flippant(sp?), I am just a little frustrated.
I don't want to add a device just for Netflix. I will probably buy a new bluray with Netflix support. Still, the PCH is where it belongs. I am happy with the C200, so without Netflix I don't have a compelling enough reason to upgrade. If they supported it, I would almost certainly buy one.

I keep seeing lesser (and far less expensive) devices with Netflix supported and I feel that the PCH should do it as well.

I like the display, but for me, I think I will go for an A300 - I never looked at the display on the C200 and am sort of assuming after the initial wow factor wears off for me, I don't know if I would use it. Anyways, I don't mean to sound like I am bagging on the display but I am starting to get cheap in my old age and am thinking the A300 is a better match for me Now I just have to wait my turn in the order queue.

If you ask me that is a reason for the pch not to add it. I already have a wii/ps3/xbox360/tivo/tv that all support netflix. Im sure other households are the same and with cheap devices like the roku that gives you access to hundreds of VOD/streaming just adding netflix would not appeal to many anymore.

I have the C-200 and I feel its fluorescent display is very close to useless. You can only really read it up close - there's not enough contrast to make it legible from most seating positions. (even after adjusting for best contrast) For me, it's a distraction, more than anything - a big flickering blue light in my entertainment center. After two weeks, I turned it off.

Having said that, the C-300 TFT display is an entirely different animal. It appears legible and interesting. In the long run, however, I only need the box to play movies from my NAS and the C-200 (and the newer A-300) do that very well without any display. That's what the TV is for, anyway. Right?

The drive bay is something I never used on my C-200, though I believe it will prove more useful to most C-300 owners than the TFT display.

I bought an A-300 and I don't miss the display or the drive bay. I sincerely hope the 300 series players get the firmware attention they deserve. This last release is a good start, but there's still a lot left to do.

Poor google tv was terrible i would not put it out as an option.

LOL, I got a good laugh when I read GoogleTV was being used as a comparison. I have a feeling what most of us consider "major formats" and the OP does is quite different

I will probably be sitting out the C-300. I already have an A200/C200/A300 at home, and for the type of upgrade that comes with the A300 that is sufficient enough (especially since I rarely if ever use physical disks). Of course I am just sitting tight for the SMP8910.

For all those who wanted 3D BR support by Syabas instead using the Realtek 1186, be glad they didn't. This chip is buggy as heck (I have a player), and all that would happen is everyone would start complaining about how Syabas screwed them over by going with Realtek...

I'v had the C300 for a few days now and i haven't been able to make it 'discover' my myIhome server. Is this a bug? or am i doing something wrong? I can make it connect via SMB and via PS3 mediaserver, but SMB is not what i want and PS3 Mediaserver borks with large files.

So i'd love to get it to be able to discover and use the myIhome server, any idea's?

The TFT would be brilliant for playing music and not requiring the TV to be switched on. All my AV equipment is going in a concealed cabinet with RF to IR senders so I think the cheaper A300 might be for me.

The C300 is not compatible with myiHome, it will never work as myiHome requires the Gaya browser which was removed from the C300.

I am looking forward to official firmware release. Video playback allready performing very nice and I can't wait to use the TFT-display to play my music collection (connected analogue with receiver) without television

So im forced to either use the PS3 Mediaserver with its crappy transcoding that hogs all my resources or SMB? Cause afaik there arent any other (myihome like) mediaservers available.

The C300 chassis can hold both 3.5 & 2.5 hard drives simultaneously yet has no USB 3.0 for fast file transfer! Out of all the models doesn’t it make sense to have USB 3.0 on the box that is most likely to hold internal drives?
I can only presume their is a technical limitation why this has not been included? Werner, do you know why?
