Quote:I think we all can agree that the launch of the 300 series is unsatisfying in that manner it obviously isn't a product that is very complete and plug'n'play. I agree with that. We can also agree, that every Popcorn 'launch' has been the same. Why should we expect it to be different than before? C200's two and half years ago, A100 a couple years before that. If they had to wait for a bug-free firmware, release could delay for an extra year, and by that time the competition would have better options on sale (if you snooze you loose...). Either that, or sell the device for hundreds of dollars more, to have a bigger development and Q&A team. So instead of bitching for a buggy "initial" release, people can bitch about the price. (they all seem to bitch about something) 300 series might not be plug'n'play at the moment, but they are 95%+ operational. Eventually they'll get to 99%. Except for a few minor bugs, I've been using mine non stop every day for almost 4 months, with no major problems or hiccups. |

Okay, one quick question - not sure if this is a firmware problem, or I've ripped something incorrectly...
Anyway - I've just starting ripping BDs, using DVDFab. Generally I just rip the main movie, as I'm not too concerned with backing up extras, all the subtitles, etc. A few movies I will back up the whole disc though - generally when there are two versions of the movie on the disc. So I tried this with the Aliens blu-ray, but the A300 on playback seems to default to the regular version, and I can't access a menu to select chapters, change versions, etc - everything that typically works on a DVD ISO. Am I missing something here? |

That would seem reasonable to me if I didn't own two other media streamers which cost half the A-300's price, or less, and are rather a lot less buggy than the A-300. The A-300 is *already* the most expensive streamer you can buy (that I've found, anyway). That money should *already* fund the big development and QA team you speak of. That's the basis on which I decided to pay so much damn money for the thing. It's not like the A-300 brings any particularly revolutionary features to the table compared with any other streamer. |

I can't agree with you at all. sounds like there is some feature that if your using it, the product is extremely disappointing and unstable. I however just needed to put in my video setting and I was good to go. plays all my media, my jukebox works perfect, no reboots, no lost networking, gig, reliable, a hell of a lot faster. The a300 and V8 are the most reliable players from syabas I own. |

It doesn't change the fact that I really had network issues to correct. After that, yes my A-300 runs brilliant. Subs still not perfect though. -goAMinD PCH-A300 | W2K8R2 | Blu-Ray collection |

i'm the only one who's optimistic about the new firmware will solve all the issues most of you are bitching for? in 2 month of use I've not a single forced reboot or severe issue with this product exept for the subtitle that as said before it'll be fixed soon... stop complaining and go watch a movie guys

I would grow old too fast if I would complain all the time.
