And start a thread in the 300 series subtitles section as depending on what the subtitles are they may never be possible to play. I have not seen any other posts apart from HD sub/idx which are not possible.

Get a thread, use mediainfo to scan a file that has a problem with subtitles and post the info. If the subtitles are external upload the subtitle files. Or upload a sample clip if they are internal.

thank you werner, now thats something. the issue i have is, the movie is fine until the subtitles come up, when they appear (subtitles) i have a black screen and the movie just play on the background of the subtitles (weird) i quit using the last firmware, i'm using the October firmware, is the solution for me to watch my movies...

I understand you because i need spanish subs to understand completely the movie.I don't know how to help you,but i installed last firmware and all my srt spanish subtitles works fine with my mkv,m2ts local files.I'm using only local media only ,no br player or network streaming.

random reboots? if you have random reboots then i would check whats wrong on your device, mine is now running since i flashed this firmware without one reboot

I could list various scenarios which make the A300 reboot all the time.

For example I play a flac file... and wait until the screensaver pops up, then I press "down button" from the wheel => reboot.

Gax, is this a reboot or does the A300 go into standby ? Ie. do ou get the white Popcorn Hour loading image ?

That's not random though is it

Get a bug report for that action, then they should be able to repeat it and fix it. It's specific and should be easily repeatable/fixable for Syabas.

Its random, I have it also play videos. even more so if you pause and let a screen saver come on. or sitting at the menu with a screensaver on. pushing any button will either bring it back or it flips itself off not really a reboot goes into standby, but has locked up on me also.

Some Flac files and MP3 files make it Reboot and show the green jukebox boot screen...
I can take a specific file and it reboots every time !!!

if you have a specific file then how about to upload this specific file? i have around 1700 flac files and 5000 mp3, currently i had not one which rebooted the player, but for sure i didn't play all of them

Has nothing to do with the FLAC file any FLAC file will do...
It's the screensaver overlay kicking in and user pressing the down button on remote... while in a non flash based proces like playing FLAC maybe?

ive just bought an a-300 and updated firmware.

im having problems playing mp3 files from internal 3tb drive.

music is very jumpy and stutters alot.

is this happening to anyone else ?

I've already seen that the next fw update should solve this (?) but it reminds me of a similar issue I had on my previous Netgear EVA9150. As soon as subs are projected on the screen, image is blocked.

The issue is discussed on the Netgear forum. The command-line util "srtfixup" solves this. Is part of the useful toolset VID2EVA produced by StephenB.

Have a look, give it a try. Might do wonders for you.
