Can I speed up NMJv2 if I install a SSD into the A300? Actual DB is on my NAS
Actual the Database is on my Synology 2411+ NAS, same Share as my video files...with read/write access.
I have the option to install a small 16GB SLC SSD into my A300. Now my Questions: - Can I choose where to store the Database? - did I have some (maybe) speed benefits if the DB is on a local drive? and Bonus Question^^ - How work the Database logic, did I can/must have one DB for all my drives, shares, or can I have one database for every drive/share? ![]() my A300 is defect, so I wait for the replacement one and also I cant test it now

RE: Can I speed up NMJv2 if I install a SSD into the A300? Actual DB is on my NAS
Normally the database is created in the same location as the media. If the media location is write disabled then the database can be created on the internal hdd instead.
Somebody posted on the forum about using a SSD, and apparently he didn't get a significant speed benefit. If you search for it you can read about it. Right now there is only one way to store the database, which is one database for each drive/share. Being able to combine all shares/drives into a single database is not currently supported. It has been hoped that this ability would be added in a future firmware, but there is no promise. |
