RE: Eversion Beta2 v0.2.8.4 (R0137) Released
In the latest release do we now have the option to map the LEFT directional button as the BACK function instead of RETURN?

Such as the code below:
PHP Code:

    <
remote>
       <
button>LEFT
       <
action>BACK</action>
       <
data>1</data>
    </
remote

As a Harmony user, the MENU and EXIT/RETURN buttons are a bit far off from the directional pad Big Grin

if the page is using left to make the page work (like an index) then no, otherwise, yes. Your the first harmony user to say the layout was anything odd.

Thanks, but when trying the above code in global.menu.themenu it does not seem to work. Im trying to implement this only inside the menu.

Also i seem to run across an issue with Eversion 0.2.8.4 with yamj-2.6-SNAPSHOT-r2885-bin. When applying boxcovers it does not box certain tagged sets with characters in the display name such as : and /. It works for some but not all. The end result is no image on the movie wall.

I can navigate to the jukebox folder and see all the images that cannot display a thumbnail preview are the same ones that are affected when being boxed. I cannot delete the images due to a "image does not exist" error but they are there. Ive tried outputting to a new clean folder and same results as it creates the images again. I do not know if its Eversion or YAMJ at this point. i think it have something to do with the $3A value within the file name but i could be wrong. Anyone have any ideasHuh?

RE: Eversion Beta2 v0.2.8.5 (R0143) Released
YAMJ R2887 recommended for recent codec fixes, IMDB changes and less index xml to speed up Eversion.

Eversion 0.2.8.5: Download Upgrade help
  • FIX: Some NFS Share setups didn't work correctly with automounting
  • SPEED: YAMJ R2887 has minor xml file improvements that add a hair more speed to eversion, upgrade your yamj and rescan your xml.

Eskiner Changes (not default eskin changes):
  • NEW: variable modifer nospaces to remove spaces
  • NEW: videoimageurl added to episodes, UNKNOWN=dummy image in use
  • NEW: segment datasource people (includes a new en.xml error message if you need to translate)

ALL-IN-ONE UPDATED:
  • YAMJ 2.6 R2887 will be added once more testing can be completed. Maybe in a few days.

The menu has the left key, you can't override the menu at this time.

Windows won't let you delete them? That sounds like something OS wise is going on here any it may not be yamj.

RE: Eversion Beta2 v0.2.8.4 (R0137) Released
Noticing some rather large speed increases on my A300 after upgrading to 0.2.8.5 with the latest YAMJ after rescanning XML files.

Thanks, keep up the good work.

$3A translates to :

It simply does that because you can't have a filename with : in most OSes. It won't cause any problems, and thats accurate for it to have that for shows that have : in the title. If you can't delete files it's because you have them specified as read only, you have a dying hard drive, you have corrupt data, or some type of software is causing this. It would have to be software that is actively running in the background, such as an anti-virus. There's absolutely no way Eversion/YAMJ would cause files in your jukebox to give the error "image does not exist" when attempting to delete. They have no control over such things.

Looking at your image, there is no previews for some of those pictures when there should be. This is common with corrupted images. When you open them, is there no image? If there isn't.. you have corrupt data. Which in my experience is caused by either bad RAM or a bad hard drive in most cases.

This is a bogus complaint (suggestion?). The Menu and Exit buttons on your remote are seriously one inch away from the directional pad. Those 2 buttons aren't even used very much. No offense, but thats a pretty bad case of extreme laziness, and this is coming from a very lazy person. Undecided

I've personally used the 700, and the 700's layout isn't much different than my current 900. It's extremely easy to reach those buttons without even moving your hand or looking at the remote.

RE: Eversion Beta2 v0.2.8.5 (R0143) Released
I have the latest Eversion v0.2.8.5 and the latest yamj and have been looking through the settings and have been unable to solve my issue myself.
Basically, When I play a tv series say from episode 1, I want the next episode to play automatically instead of finishing and restarting the same episode meaning I have to press stop and select next episode manually.

Any help appreciated. Big Grin

The only way I know to make an episodes/video loop is if it's an iso or disc rip and that disc is set to loop. Then yes it would need to be stopped.

Although, as I type this, I think there is a repeat button and option. which you might have on and not realize it..

But as suggested just above this. select=1 episode, play=playlist starting at this episode (and optionally you can have it add the earlier episodes after at the end of the playlist), pause=play a single random episode and FWD (fast forward)=play the last episode.

I do not think its the OS as i get it on both my WHS and my Win7 machines. The strange thing is that it only happen with those set images, the regular covers are fine, if i turn off the overlays the images are created correctly. This only happens when i enable the overlays.

My data is not corrupted, all files play fine. Its not software conflict. My HDDs are not dying. I can run Boxme on Eversion and it puts out the set images for these sets 100%, no issue.

I can run Eversion and disable the box overlays and it outputs the set images, no issue.

Something is going on when the overlays are enabled, it cannot output those images, and its aways those images. Looking in the log this is what i see:

This is a bogus complaint (suggestion?). The Menu and Exit buttons on your remote are seriously one inch away from the directional pad. Those 2 buttons aren't even used very much. No offense, but thats a pretty bad case of extreme laziness, and this is coming from a very lazy person. Undecided

I've personally used the 700, and the 700's layout isn't much different than my current 900. It's extremely easy to reach those buttons without even moving your hand or looking at the remote.

Is was not a complaint or suggestion, it was a simple question on button mappings. As once i got use to navigating NMJ it was much faster to navigate around only using the directional pad and the OK button. When using Eversion i constantly have to readjust the remote in my hand every time i want to go back one screen. Im trying to eliminate the readjusting. Taking the best from both worlds and create an awesome interface Big Grin

Question.
Have anyone tried to create a set using the default overlays with any one of those series that i pointed out?

Basically, When I play a tv series say from episode 1, I want the next episode to play automatically instead of finishing and restarting the same episode meaning I have to press stop and select next episode manually.

Thanks for the response ppl, I have tried the options you suggested before but none of these worked. The tv episodes are mostly avi's, I am running a a200 with external hard-drive plugged in and eversion is on the ext drive. the file layout is:

tv -> dexter -> season 1 -> ep 1-22
-> season 2 -> ep 1-22
Simpsons -> season 1 -> ep 1-22
ect..

They played in a playlist fine with my old html skin just not since I have changed to Eversion and happened on both v0.2.8.4 and v0.2.8.5.

The following is my esettings-default.xml:
---------------------------------
Code:
    Options:
          NATIVE: The player built in the pch (dvd, bluray, iso require this one)
          SDK: The limited yamj player (currently the syabas sdk player, soon to be rewritten)
    -->

    <!-- which player for single video files? (avi, mkv, etc) -->
    <playersingle>NATIVE</playersingle>
    <!-- which player for iso files? -->
    <playeriso>NATIVE</playeriso>
    <!-- which player for VIDEO_TS rips? -->
    <playervideots>NATIVE</playervideots>
    <!-- which player for BDMV rips? -->
    <playerbdmv>NATIVE</playerbdmv>
    <!-- which player for flv video files? -->
    <playerflv>SDK</playerflv>

---------------------------------
and:
---------------------------------
Code:
    <!-- Native player loop fromhere playlists.

        true=YAMJ html skin playlist behavior. Video you picked to start from plays first until the end of the playlist, then wraps around to the first videos you didn't play yet.
        false=only play from the video I picked to the end, do not wrap around.

        Currently this only works with native player. SDK Player has full playlist support and you'll get the full playlist but you'll start watching the video
        you picked from. This allows you to select previous to go back to previous videos if you started in the wrong spot.
    -->
    <playlistreorder>false</playlistreorder>

    <!-- When set to true playermultipick will pop up a menu when you play a multi-part movie to pick all or 1 of the parts. Handy for users who do not have # keys
         on their remotes, or users who make use of multi-parts for different versions of the same movie -->
    <playermultipick>true</playermultipick>

    <!-- playersingleiso: when set to true, if an iso or folder rip is the first item in the playlist, the rest of the
                          playlist is discarded -->
    <playersingleiso>true</playersingleiso>
---------------------------------

Are any of these setting wrong or any more suggestions.

Thanks.

The strange thing is that it only happen with those set images, the regular covers are fine, if i turn off the overlays the images are created correctly. This only happens when i enable the overlays.

I'm a little confused, are they being made and can't be deleted or are they not being made? The file names are ok, it's always been that way for special characters like : / \ etc that are not allowed in filenames and has worked for everyone else. Maybe your virus scanner or something is interfering?

Quote:I can run Eversion and disable the box overlays and it outputs the set images, no issue.

Even more confusing. which overlays are you using? Maybe it's something wrong with the overlay files and possible yamj changes.

I'm going to have to recommend you post a general yamj overlays help type thread, I'm not all that experienced with the overlays and you may need help from those who are.

There's a bunch of requests tied to overriding the keys and a "field" knowing when it ran into the edge. It's going ot be an option someday, just not soon.

I've never seen this personally. does fskip work to get to the next video? there is a repeat button and option on the remote, pressing I will show you what repeat mode it's in and you can adjust it. I think you might be in the repeat same video over and over again mode.

Other than that, I'm not even sure what to do, once it's playing it's all the player involved

@ Accident

fskip on the remote does not skip to next episode which I find strange.
The repeat mode on the remote is on the setting with the circular repeat arrow with the red cross indicating repeat off. I have tried the other repeat settings on the remote aswell.

I would reboot the player just in case it's somethign funny going on.. not too uncommong at my house when I'm talking avis and it's been awhile since a reboot..

Just to make sure, you go into a tv season, scroll to the first episode you want to watch, there are more episodes after it and your press the play button on the remote control to start it? the actual play button, not the select in the center of the nav keys.
