Networked NAS vs USB External on PCH for multiple PCHs

I currently use a MSS WHS to serve movies to 3 PCH A-100, at times I have issues with stutter which seems to be well documented with the MSS. I have about 2tb of video files that I would like to move to another storage option and use my WHS for backup only.

If my only need with this additional storage is to serve movies to a PCH is there any advantage to setting up a NAS and add disks as I need more storage as opposed to purchasing external hard drives and adding as USB drives to the PCH?

One additional note, I have plans to add and another PCH soon, either A-210 or A-300 so this would be the PCH to which the external drives would connect.

Can anyone offer any help with this? The easiest thing for me would be to add external hard drives to my PCH via USB but if that won't be a viable solution I will need to do something different.

Assuming there is only one NMT device at a time playing off the storage an A300 with a USB extra drive will work from all your NMT's
If there are more concurrent users..... doing some maintenance and upgrades on the MSS WHS would be a better solution.

Thanks.....I am looking for something other than the WHS, I have spent far too much time already trying to tweak and tune it and it's time to move on so I think I will look at NAS.
