Internal HD (NMTHDD) does not mount
My internal HD is NTFS.
I have the NMT apps on a USB stick, formatted as ext3. The problem occured today as I installed the USB stick as carrier for the NMT apps. After a reboot I can see the internal HDD. I can see the mapped drive and I can FTP to it etc. As I then plug the blue USB cable into a laptop. I can see the message that the HDD disconnects ....BUT.... I dont see the drive mounts on my laptop. After I then run the NMT Setup Wizard (USB stick as media destination) and after the reboot, only then I get the drive mounted on the laptop. But when I disconnect and reconnect the blue cable, it all starts over again, and I wont get the internal drive mounted. |

RE: Internal HD (NMTHDD) does not mount
Anyone having a solution?
Both USB-devices mount but not the internal ntfs HDD. It wont mount by Samba and it wont mount by USB-cable to pc. It on ly mount after the NMT-Wizard reboot. I get the message: Mounting on my pc with Samba I get the message: The local device name is already in use. |

RE: Internal HD (NMTHDD) does not mount
The last message is probably related to your other question (USB drive named the same).
Just to be sure. You don't have your PCH connected to your laptop and the TV at the same time, right? Cause that's a no go. Basically I'd first format the usb key on you're laptop, then connect it to the (turned off) PCH. Boot up and see if it's detected (as well as the internal drive). Then use the setup wizard. Finish the setup of the key. Reboot. See if all is correctly detected. If so, you can do what you want (add the other usb drive on another port, turn off and remove PCH from TV and connect it to the PC) PCH-A100 (FW 01-17-100317-15-POP-402-000) (00-17-091216-15-POP-402 NMT Apps) Philips 28PW9611/01 PAL SD, connected with Composite Old skool

RE: Internal HD (NMTHDD) does not mount
To be safe, the only cables in the PCH should be the power cable (duh
) and the USB cable to connect to your PC. The rest you need to disconnect.

RE: Internal HD (NMTHDD) does not mount
Well I tried all that. Even a fresh new formatted install. Still the internal NTFS HD would not mount.
So I ended up with just the USB stick and the internal drive connected to the PCH. Then I pulled out the front USB stick with the apps on it and.... YES...immediately the internal drive mounted! I tried this a couple times and conclusion is: -internal drive wont mount with front USB stick. Without the USB stick it mount fine. Edit: hehe...then I connected HDMI, network cable and 2nd USB-drive.....and ...the internal drive still mounts....even with the USB stick in the front...zzzzz |

RE: Internal HD (NMTHDD) does not mount
Odd. But concerning the last part:
Quote:Edit: hehe...then I connected HDMI, network cable and 2nd USB-drive.....and ...the internal drive still mounts....even with the USB stick in the front...zzzzzYou did turn off the PCH in between right? So you were not using it as a USB slave and, while connected to the PC, you plugged in the HDMI and other cables? Because that should not work, as far as I know. (Video output is not able to work while in USB mode). Still it is strange that the front USB could cause problems. Have you tried using the back USB for NMT Apps and the front for the other drive. Maybe it's a compatibility issue. Otherwise if the problem remains/ comes back the cause could be more serious. RE: Internal HD (NMTHDD) does not mount
Just to keep this thread up-to-date. After months now the problem persists.
I stopped to try to fix it because I just dont know what else to do. The internal HD still wont mount while the app-USB-stick is plugged in the front. And I still have to disconnect the stick to let the HD mount. |
