Synology DS209+II NAS and DLNA external subtitles not working
Hi all,

I just upgraded an A110 to an A300 as my A110 had some difficulties with some of the media I have. I use a Synology DS209+II to stream my media from.

I know a lot has changed in the workings of the A300 compared to the A110, and instead of creating shares on the A300 as I did on the A110, I stream my media using DLNA.

This has presented a problem using external subtitle files, which I simply can not get to work. I should mention that it worked flawlessly on the A110.

I have tried to rename the media subtitles to <name>.srt and also <name>.en.srt as I read in another post that you should be able to have multiple subtitle files for any one media file. The subtitle language is set to English in the settings.

Does anyone know if or how to get external subtitle files to work using DLNA?

Kind regards,
Mfas

couple things. were you using the DLNA server on teh A110 A lot of DLNA servers dont support external subtitles its not part of the specs. But pch usually works fine as it makes a blind request for them but will only work if the DLNA server supports it.

No, I only used shares, as, as far as I know, the A110 did not support DLNA.

Excuse me - PCH? What is that?

EDIT: Ahh, PCH = PopCornHour - right :-)

Kind regards
