I have troubles with some MKV's too. When I try to run them on my A300 all I get is a black screen and then all I can do is reboot the device. How can I determine which MKV's will and which will not play on the A300?

The black screen can be resolved by skippnig forwards 30secs, it happens when you resume.
Different Bug to the one the thread is about. If you want assistance then ask in the Video section as this section is for Bug Reporting so that Syabas can fix issues. So... any updates on a firmware fix? would love to test some beta firmware if required. this is the only issue I have with my A300.

It's been found and resolved on the A400. It was a new AAC bug. I would expect it to be fixed int he next open release for the 300 series.

I have a number of .MP4 and .MKV files released by River, FOV and C4TV, which won't play on my A300 (with internal HDD). When playing the files the screen goes black and the A300 requires a reboot or it just crashes the A300 and the device reboots automatically. Examining some of the .MP4 files, I can see that the audio is in AAC format.
What is the point of submitting bugs if they won't be addressed? I upgraded from an A110 to an A300. If it carries on likes this, I won't be buying Popcorn again. |
