.sub & .idx playback issues A110
When are we going to get a fix for the .sub and .idx bug where the movie starts but then just crashes back to the file selection when the spoken parts start (when the sub should be displayed)
The movies play fine without subtitles or with subtitles in .SRT format. Our last firmware update was in April. I know support is focussing on the newer released players but it would be nice to support your older hardware as well. |

I don't know if you talk about the mkv bug ("subtitles format not supported") but it works if you extract sub & idx files and use them as srt (same name, same folder)

The unit goes back to the browse menu and needs a reboot before it will play anything else so I would definitely call this a bug.
I have noticed the following pattern and did the following tests with the latest (April) firmware: * The media file plays fine when removing the IDX/SUB files from the directory or replacing them by an SRT (both are not a real solution due to several reasons) * The problem only seems to occur with high def subtitles. BR -> MKV rips crash but DVD -> XviD rips play fine. * It also has nothing to do with multi-language. I edited one of the crashing IDX subtitles and removed the whole Spanish section leaving only the English (confirmed with VLC) but it still crashed on my A-110. * Playing one of the movies, that crashes my A-110, on my friends C200 works fine and displays the subtitles OK. |

Can we know from an official source if this problem is going to be fixed or not ?
Right now I have to find srt subtitlesfor all the movies I have because the sub/idx make the A110 crash. I plan on buying a Dune TV-101 just to get rid of this problem but I would prefer to keep my A110 if a fix is on his way. Please let us know. |

The A-110 is, after more than four years, EOL ("End Of Life") which means
that one's not to expect any more updates or fixes. I know I'm not an official source, but this is stated all over the A-110 forums for a while now and though nothing is impossible, it's highly unlikely Syabas will put any (real) effort in fixing bugs/undocumented features in older products.
