Sync Files To Two Popcorn Hours?
Hi,

Might be a bit off topic but I have a C200 and an A300. Streaming in my house isnt very good and fast forwarding etc is causing problems. I've just invested in a gigabit switch and some powerline ethernet adaptors but I have an idea....

My old scenario was a C200 with a 3TB HDD. This HDD would sync to my NAS which would give me a backup (the NAS isnt redundant, just one big 4TB storage box)

With me having a C200 and an A300 now, I'm considering whacking a 3TB in the A300 and just having the C200 and A300 cloned. I can then change my NAS to be 2TB redunant (as it is made up of two 2TB drives) and just put old stuff on there to stream if I feel the need to.

My question is, is there a way (backup software etc) that could Sync my popcorns on the LAN. So If I put a file on one, upon a schedule it would sync and copy the file to the other. A sort of incremental backup between the two. That way as well if one popcorn HDD breaks I have a copy (I was stung by a failing Iomega years ago and lost 500GB of data!)

Hope this makes sense and any advice is appreciated

RE: Sync Files To Two Popcorn Hours?
Have you tried the CSI and an app called SYNK, its a GUI for rsync?

Have a search and ask the developer to help if it is not working for the A300, use the CSI A210 profile and select USB if your NMT Apps are on USB. If not then standard profile.

A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI
CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407

Do you mean the community Software Installer?

I did a search for SYNK and found a website but you have lost me a bit with mentioning the CSI, I cannot see SYNK or Rsync in the CSI list so not sure what I need to do?

Thanks

RE: Sync Files To Two Popcorn Hours?
If you use the sites search feature and put 'synk' and choose the thread title option you would have found it:
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...light=synk

Give it a go. If not working ask the developer for help. It should be part of ipkg/opkg.
It's part of opkg now:
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...light=opkg

Basically Install opkg via the CSI > Install from File. Reboot. Then use the opkg url to access the opkg list of apps. There you will see SYNK and an INSTALL button.
