One question on output resolution, first to order!
Hi to all,
I've Pioneer KURO 50" FULL HD Plasma Television that support following HD resolution on HDMI: 1280 x 720p@59,94 Hz/60 Hz 1920 x 1080i@59,94 Hz/60 Hz 1920 x 1080p@24 Hz 1920 x 1080p@50 Hz 1920 x 1080p@60 Hz As you can see 1080i was supported only at 60 Hz. On MPC forum some user ask, as wish list, for new FW with "Set For 1080i 60 hz" option. This means that actually PH can't support that resolution on HDMI! What does it mean?? Does PH100 support only 1080i@50 as HD resolution?? In other words: Does PH100 support my Plasma (EU version) and all its HD resolution?? |

Thansk!
So should be no problem on my TV, I can choose 1080p as output resolution! EDIT: On MPC there was one use that reply me and say: "It support both 1080i 60 and 60 Hz!"

If your plasma is an EU model and carries the "HD Ready" logo, it is licensed under the EU HD Ready scheme.
HD Ready GUARANTEES the following resolutions to be supported via HDMI or DVI with HDCP (and I believe also via Component analogue connecction - though this may now have been made optional - and doesn't mandate a connector standard?) : 1080/50i 1080/60i 720/50p 720/60p 576/50p 576/50i 480/60p 480/60i 1080/24p, 1080/50p and 1080/60p are optional additions to the HD Ready schemen and not mandated under it, but many modern displays support them in addition to the HD Ready requirement. Given that almost all European HD broadcasts (Sky HD, BBC HD, Euro1080, Premiere etc.) are in 1080/50i and the output from satellite receivers is 1080/50i - I would be amazed if an EU plasma didn't support 1080/50i. Suspect it is an error in the printed spec. (Most - but not all - displays support 59.94 and 60Hz inputs as well as 24 and 23.97Hz when they refer to 60 and 24 compatibility - they are so close as to be almost identical to a display) Also - note that there are other ways of describing 1080/50i using either the frame rather than field rate, and total number of lines rather than active lines. (Whilst only the active lines are stored in the compressed video files, the connection between source and display includes non-active lines during vertical blanking periods) 1080i25, 1125i25, 1125/50i are all ways of describing 1080/50i. 720p60, 750p60, 750/60p are all ways of describing 720/60p also. |
