[Bug] Blu-ray iso freezes/stutters in the same place, but not on PC.

Blu-ray iso freezes/stutters in the same place, but not on PC.
On the A-300, I play a blu ray iso from the NFS network, Samba network, or straight usb hard drive and it always stutters for a second in the same places. Why is this?

I play the same file on my PC using TMT5 across the SAMBA network, and it doesn't freeze.

What is the name of the movie? Is it a movie only rip? What s/w ripped it?
Did you try remuxing it into the main movie only as a BDMV folder?

RE: Blu-ray iso freezes/stutters in the same place, but not on PC.
it's the difference between an software(PC) and a hardware(NMT) player... software can ignore/skip errors a hardware player starts to stutter or fail.
but remember the video card you need to buy for your PC to be able to do what the A300 does will cost you more than an A300Smile
And then organize and maintain all the playback software and apps..

13 NTFS USB drives on 3 hubs attached to the A300, 3 Seagate blackarmour NAS 3TB

The inability to setup and configure the NMT should not be disguised as a defect of the box

So is there anyway to fix it to play on the A-300? Do I need to re rip it?

It is the Limitless Blu ray ripped to iso with Anydvd HD.

extract the ISO to a folder and see if playback stutters then... it could be a problem with the ISO.

I also had the same problem with a 1:1 BD.ISO rip of Limitless (as well as a few other titles). I created the BD.ISO using the latest version of AnyDVD HD.

RE: Blu-ray iso freezes/stutters in the same place, but not on PC.
Ok, so I think this is an A-300 issue. I have now tried a couple of other Blu-ray img files and folders, and they all seem to stutter/freeze every couple of minutes for like 1-2 seconds. It actually sorta freezes and then jumps ahead 1-2 seconds.

This occurs using network media files via Samba/NFS, and also attached External hard drives connected directly to the A-300.

I just bought a Netgear NTV550, because I wanted to see if that had any issues with the files, but it actually plays the iso and folders fine.

Do I have a defective A-300? I'll probably send it in for warranty.

RE: Blu-ray iso freezes/stutters in the same place, but not on PC.
every one is having trouble with BDiso's, "Chris57 will say if you ripped your BDIso with protection removed it should play"
But they dont! well not correctly.

IT is a bug but dont know if they are looking into it or notHuh

RE: Blu-ray iso freezes/stutters in the same place, but not on PC.
What is the difference between playback of a BD ISO and a BD folder?
What is the advantage of a BD ISO's over BD folders?

Problem I think is the complexity of folder structure and Java of some ISO's and the extraction effort in real time.. for a tiny CPU with little and slow memory.

I run ISO but if I got one that has a problem I just extract it to a folder and it works...

Extracting from ISO to folders doesn't always fix the problems.

Fine.... but are those RIP or PCH problems?
simple fact that they "work on your PC" does not mean anything...

RE: Blu-ray iso freezes/stutters in the same place, but not on PC.
For me, it is the pch.

I've tried Blu-Ray ISOs and folders and both freeze every once in a while on the pch. Doesn't matter if it is streaming or from a local hdd. The same files don't freeze on the computer and other streaming players like the Netgear NTV500 player.

"every once in a while"

so.. every once in a while it freezes on ISO's and on folder playback... so it might not have anything to do with ISO's or folders.

It just freezes every once in a while..... cause unknown.

You just notice it once in a while when you are using it for playback...

Briljant

Sorry, it freezes in the same spots during the video each time. I have tried multiple copies of the same blu ray and they all freeze in the same spot, every single time. Doesn't matter if it's iso/folder, nfs/hdd direct, etc. Only happens on the A-300.
