RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C300/A300
New to all this I installed MPD on my new A-300 and also got the problem with everything seemingly playing, however no sound. The output in the log file is the following:
client: [0] opened from 127.0.0.1:59775 client: [0] process command "play" playlist: play 0:"Bruce Springsteen/The Rising/05. Countin' On A Miracle.flac" decoder_thread: clearing mixramp tags decoder_control: mixramp_start = NULL decoder_control: mixramp_prev_end = NULL client: [0] command returned 0 client: [0] process command list client: command_process_list: process command "status" client: command_process_list: command returned 0 client: command_process_list: process command "currentsong" client: command_process_list: command returned 0 client: [0] process command list returned 0 client: [0] closed decoder: audio_format=44100:16:2, seekable=true output: opened plugin=httpd name="PCH Stream" audio_format=44100:16:2 playlist: play 0:"Bruce Springsteen/The Rising/05. Countin' On A Miracle.flac" decoder_thread: clearing mixramp tags decoder_control: mixramp_start = NULL decoder_control: mixramp_prev_end = NULL decoder: audio_format=44100:16:2, seekable=true httpd_output: malformed request line from client Aparently something wrong with the audio_output definition, which I left default in MPD.conf. Is the "PCH Stream" name correct for the A-300? I don't see any reference to the flac file format in the decoder section. Is that OK? Already deleted/installed mpd again, which did not help. I would be very happy if someone could shed some light on this as I would very much like to play music without the TV switched on. Thanks in advance!! EDIT: I found when opening http://pch_ip:8669/ that it starts playing the playlist on the device after starting it with droid MPD. My intention is however to play it to the audio through the SPDIF of the pch. What audio_output do I select to accomplish this? |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C300/A300
I have a problem installing mpd. The opkg installer installed busybox, libvorbis0, libvorbisenc2 and libvorbisfile3 just fine, but however mpd doesn´t get installed.
Is there a log-file somewhere or does anyone have a clu? |

Different ways of installing are described here. Maybe an other method will do the job. |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C300/A300
Same problem here. OPKG installs everything only MPD isn't. With the manual mode of CSI you need a zip file otherwise it won't work and can't find it. Help needed....

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C300/A300
And if you just try once more in opkg? I remember initially it did not finish installing, but somehow I managed later on through opkg. Or uninstall and then reinstall? I got that working somehow.
My problem is that I still haven't got the output right. No sound on the attached stereo when playing with MPD, while through NMJ2 it works fine. The flac input is nicely converted to a stream, that can be played with a webbrowser on any device, but no output to the stereo. |

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C300/A300
I had to wait a few minutes for opkg to finish the installing of mpd. So that works but i have the same problem with the sound. My PCH is connected to my stereo but no sound. Thats a new challenge for me.

I also find out that OPKG isn't installing MPD. All other programs are installed, but not MPD?

RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C300/A300
Hi,
first of all, this MPD is genius! After a little bit of tweaking here and there (but just because I just got my a300) I got it working perfectly. I only have one question, before forcing my wife to do some blind tests Since I saw that part if the packages I installed with opkg had to do with encoding/decoding (e.g. libvorbis*), does the process have an impact on the music quality? (via encoding or decoding the signal?) Thank you, RJ |

I'm not a developer, I just try to solve problems tactically... I'm now having a look at the glitches others are coming across. I'm not sure I know enough to give help. I found and solved problems with my firewall, then antivirus, then some reboots. And here I am (it took me 4/5 hours). But tomorrow i will try to test the sound, and if quality will be deteriorated by the process, I think I will just have to forget about mpd. In the meanwhile, if someone can say what in principle the whole process is doing to sound quality, it would be great. RE: [Apps] Music Player Daemon (MPD) C300/A300
I give up! I can not seem to get it working! OPKG isn't installing MPD whatever I do. All other files that I need to get gmpc to work is installed just fine. Any suggestions....
